Autoflower under 12/12 for half of flower?

hi all,
Tell me how bad of idea this is...
I started 3 photoperiod plants, the 2 cbd seeds germinated but the 1 thc seed failed germinate. It poked a tap root but not enough energy to do anything else.

I don’t have anymore seeds but one autoflower, candy kush. I plan on vegging the cbd ones for 4-6 weeks, then flip to 12/12.

How bad of idea would it be to start that auto. The cbd plants are only 4 days above soil.

So the majority of flower will under 12/12 for the auto. Not sure how bad it would affect yields. Anybody with insight and/or experience with this? Thanks all.

You will more than likely have a debilitated grow with 12/12. But they will certainly still grow. Probably not as big if under more light.

I believe autos need at least 18 hours of ligh for full potential

I've grown autos on 12/12 for years. I only grow for myself and some gifts and usually have 3-4 going at all times usually with a photo alongside.
12/12 may reduce yields a bit but it also reduces overall cost. It would be interesting to chart variables involved in 18/6 etc and see what the extra bud cost per gram.
I use 12/12 simply because it fits my schedule and I've always been happy with my yields.
In addition, I also grow in small containers...1.5-2ltr mostly.
If I can gift a couple of friends and keep 3-4ozs curing, while medicating myself 24/7, for over 13 yrs, I don't see any reason to change.
So....I see no valid concern in having an auto in with a photo. Just givem some love and care and you'll be rewarded.

12-12 will lower yield 10-15%. Are you able to put the autos outside ? That would allow you to maximize your autos potential. And with it being spring with the sun as strong as it is they should be able to maintain that indoor look your lookin for

Thank you all for the fast responses. I think I am going to run that auto. I can deal with a 15% reduction. I just need some thc to go with all that cbd. I’m growing those for family and friends to try.

I wish I could grow cannabis outside. I got some wicked big tomatoe and pepper plants outside!

Thx man...noticed you're new ....you came to the right place to help you accomplish your goals.
When I first started, there was so little info about autos...and mass negative opinions on some sites.
AFN is here to help you...lots of good info.
I once grew in a 20x20 room with multiple hps...now use a 3x2 tent so production needs and timing has changed and it's still a fun hobby.
Go into the new members area and introduce yourself.
