Autoflower + photosensitive strain = ?

herb4, I am not sure I understand. You said some auto gene selection is not fully utilized when..... Could you explain that more for me please. Does that mean that the auto gene is linked to another gene that controls fruiting and potency. What about vigor? Is it exculisive to photos? I thought that all the breeding had been done inside for autos and that is why they fare poorly outside compared to all other kinds of mj. I had hoped to resolve that issue simply by letting natural selection play a hand by starting all my breeding stock outside, if it lived and thrived, it get's bred.

I do not know but would like to just mention

1) recessive genes often need multiple crossings of splits to create stability
2) recessive genes fade easily
3) a single trait can sometimes be both dominant or recessive depending on origin
4) it MIGHT be presumptuous to believe that Auto and Photo are on the same part of the chromosome as their is no proof yet that this is the case
5) it MIGHT be presumptuous to assume that either Auto or Photo are single traits as each could be multiple traits - this hypothesis allows for the theoretical existance of a super auto yet unseen on the planet.

I am new to Auto world and would myself love to here more on this fascinating subject so we can all share genuine knowledge - OneGanjaLuv

No sir cross any photo with any auto and you have an Auto, using Ruderalis would produce a weak Auto, just cross your favorite Auto with your favorite photo and presto - have fun and to breed a good Auto simply use a good Auto :) Hope that helps

what you end up with is a busted open gene pool, of both auto and photo traits , and there mixe's also, could get fully auto, photo sensitive , photo ect. ect.ect. and the phenose will be all over also its a good start to get what you want if you have the time.......

From your comment then I see you support the that they are seperate traits for both to be exhibited and secondly then from what you say is that not what all the breeders are doing is - "Busting open the gene pool"??

In a sence yes they just take the time to breed out specific traits such as just the auto trait with purple bracts that are mediume hith ect. ect take for instance the giggle juice grow im doing, mossy crossed,

giggle juice = northernlights incence pheno x black dragon.............

and it took me 32 beans witch out of that i got two female autos and one male auto its a trip ,the rest were either phot or photo sensitive. if that helps at all.

excellent !! and well illustrated....+rep

Rich Genetics! That Black is beautiful and I find it very tempting as it shows rich dominance. In most plants and animals albinism results from weak inbreeding whereas black like in birds is bred upwards from green to blue to cobalt to violet to purple to black, the leaves also exhibit bicolor or pied which is also symbolic of powerful genes as in a Zebra 2 colors create an micro airflow near the surface for gentle cooling - effectively increasing the heat resistance of the plant as it utilizes more light via the dark pigment - it looks like it could handle heavy light and nutes with such colorations and I would love to try so I guess Black Dragons go on the shopping list :)

if u bred roses the way you breed MJ you would be a famous millionaire - be very interested to know if this is the darkest strain, what is also fascinating is to then breed to plants with very light green leaves and preferably some pied (variegated) alleles too in order to breed the first Military Marijuana, a friend created military banana trees using such technique and I am sure it is possible (the leaves have a pied color of different greens looking like the design on jungle army fatigues - whoever breeds such a plant will rock the weed world bigtime I'm sure :)

goauto6, could you explain futher about the photo sensitive and photo...... I know auto, super auto, photo sensitive and day nuetral. Are there more I am not aware of? So what I call photos are the light sensitive kind? I can shorten the hours of light, make them flower then increase the light and reveg them. I control the flowering responce.

thats funny, roses

was gona give roses a try , but the colors already there ....
