Hello All, this is my first post and also my first time with Autoflower genes. I'm a medical user, so It's all legal.

I obtained the seeds from a friend who got them from a neighbor. I planted them thinking they were photosensitive plants. I was sure surprised when a male showed itself at less than a foot tall and the females began flowering super fast.

So I harvest the autos and to my surprise I find 6 seeds. The male that pollinated them in question we believe to be a Sativa dominate plant of pseudo-mexican Origin.

So my question, if these autos were pollinated by a Sativa Dominant plant... Will they be autos ? Or .. ? I have no clue about the autoflower gene retention.

Hi, and welcome to the forum.

If you breed an auto to an auto then your plants will all be autos. It's only when you start breeding photo period plants with autos that you get a mixture of the two. Since your male was an auto, all your seeds will be autos.

..But since you reintroduce some new genetics the offspring might be shitty i guess? Try to grow them, if they dont produce what you ask i guess you can just buy some new seeds, they are cheap :)

Adding new genetics would make them a F1 hybrid and would give the vigor

Hi, and welcome to the forum.

Huh? I don't agree with this statement - as the OP is a little unclear as to what actually happened. The OP never said directly the male was an Auto, just a -
Sativa dominate plant of pseudo-mexican Origin

I read that as the fertilizing male is an unknown variable not necessarily the auto that he planted - possibly a photo, so no gurantee the seeds will be auto, but a percentage will.

I would definately grow them out and see what happens. What do you have to lose?

If this is an outdoor grow, a photo plant will show sex almost immediatly as well this time of year. There is a small possibility they are photo. I think we need more info to help out.

People are getting confused as the op has not stated if the sat dom is a phto or not.
autoxauto=normaly an auto
(i guess this is true if the seeds where stable as seed companys are crossing autos with auto's and getting non photo autos)
autoxphoto= random depending on how dom the auto gene is
autoxrandom pollen outside=no idea hope the farther is not a hemp plant
autoxauto hermi= female seed with higher chance of hermi seeds
but this is my guess i'm not an expert on this

Re read his post. He says the male showed at less that a foot tall. If it were a photo it would not have shown sex that fast or at that size.

To keep it simple, if both male/female were an auto, they will produce auto seeds.
If one was auto and one was a photo, then you will have F1 seeds that probably wont auto

Right now you have a 50/50 chance they are auto, plant one, if it autos chances are the rest will, if not they are probably all not going to

Thanks for all the replies.
To clear up some confusion, It was not an Autoflower male. The only way I knew these seeds were autos was when a male showed itself at less than a foot tall, but that male was pulled before it released pollen.

The genetics of the male I think pollinated it is mountain acclimated Mexi. Seed originally found in the best mexi I've ever smoked, grown outdoor (here in the mountains) and inbred twice. It produces sativa genetics with a shorter flowering period.

So basically I think it's an Auto x Sativa dominant Photosensitive plant.

So what I've gathered is some of the seeds could be an auto.
