Pre-flower Pics #3
Hi all...Got a couple pics of my #3. Wasn't 100% sure about it auto-ing until now. So far, this is the second set of pre-flowers on day 23...Nice and tight flowers, so I'm thinking it's a girl.
Hopefully, I'm not jumping the gun here to much...:thumbs:

Keep in mind, that just because a non auto x auto shows sex under 20 or 24hrs by no means makes it an auto. You have introduced an auto gene and that trait will be present but what you have done is make a light sensitive variety in the F1, this I do all the time to provide northern growers a shorter season strain... Beyond f1...F2 F3...is where you will breed in your auto trait.
There seems to be some confusion here at AFN about pre-flowers and auto flowering. Not the same. If you want to test that theory just leave that plant in veg for 2 months and see... most likely it will show pre flowers for ever in veg...

Ah cres, your busting my bubble man...:cry: But I do realize your right...I had a Lemon Skunk that had pre-flowers before I even went to 12/12...
I do plan on letting them veg. until my Onyx is done. So that's another 50 days or so...I'm doing a bit of topping and stem trimming on #2 and 4. I just want to see how they handle the stress. Plus, I'm just curious...

So if this don't auto at F1, with the rudy trait, will I at least have a smaller plant? So far, at this age, mom was alot taller...A smaller plant would be nice. Maybe I can keep and breed a few of the F1's for a shorter plant and continue with the auto-ing at F3-F4? What do think cres?Oh, and no, the camera has 10x zoom and Macro pics. Just a hand held type. Its in the F2 that you must start rather large #s to ensure that you do find auto traits and then continue there offspring.. now keep in mind that if you just choose the fastest male, you may end up with the faster auto line and if you choose a not so early auto then you will breed for a longer "bigger" auto..
Your curiousity will result in facts that you seek, clone those mothers, they will clone and that way if you by chance didnt breed the best one...you can take a step backwards and get that special start... Most likely those AG will clone very easy, cut and put right in beer cup...spray with water only once....and move to a low light area... no harm done if your trimming anyways...

I have a 5 x 5 x 6.5 tent coming this week. I may just do the cloning thing...But it's my first time in a tent and it's gonna be my first time using HID...I suppose the clones would make for a good practice go in the tent huh?

The best part of the F1 generation is the chance to make good selection, and with clones you can do just that, even saving the best for a BX down the road to make your strain more of an AG than whatever auto you crossed it to..
