In my 4th year of growing, not an expert by far.

Problem: My 40 day Auto OG Kush just slowed down growing in height with very little bud sights. My grow room is approx. 6' 6" in height and the plant is nearly touching the CFLs. I'm growing in water (5 gallon bucket) so I would like to know if I can transplant it in soil so I can finish it outside.

I think growing outside in water is not an option because of the heat. I already have a huge root mass so the transplant might work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I realize transplanting Auto's is never a good idea because of such a short time to recover.

Thanks, Leo

Well since no one has any input I decided to try transplanting a 40 day old, 5' plant from Hydro to dirt. If I don't destroy the plant during the process of removing it from a grow room with a narrow doorway, I'll post pictures and keep updating the progress. Sort of like an experiment for future reference. The plant already has a huge root ball so I'm hoping it will recover with no problems. I'll post pictures later.

How did it go?
You had no choice but to do as you did.

The removal from the small opening didn't go so well, the top of the main cola buckled abt 8" from the top. Did a repair with some plastic flex hose and zip-ties, I hope it mends like a similar repair that was done to a previous plant.

Plant is somewhat droopy so I had to tie a lot of the side branches up to bamboo sticks, stabilized the entire plant using 4' bamboo sticks. I will add pictures.

Pictures of the grow room condition, then of the transplanting and repair. Also add a few pictures of my Black Gold auto that's nearly finish.
