Post harvest update
Well, it's time for another update. Not so long after the last update, although not entirely sure when, I decided that I would call it a day on the Auto Mazar as progressively the largest remaining buds were taken by mould one at a time. I chopped it down and hung the whole plant for a week, before trimming the buds off to dry a little more before putting them in a jar to cure. I managed to fill a large jar, although the buds are neither themselves dense, nor tightly packed. Airy, leafy buds seem to be a pretty common result of outdoor grows in these climate conditions, it's surprising what good buds even a relatively modest artificial light can produce indoors.
It turned out that there were numerous blight warnings throughout the period up to the final chopping, as it would seem that on this basis the potential for mould was considerably worse this year than last. Bearing that in mind my conclusion on the mould susceptibility of Auto Mazar is that it is neither particularly susceptible nor resistant to mould. Development certainly seemed to be a bit slower than other plants in the same conditions, and I think that it would have really benefited from slightly better temperatures, such as might be found in a more coastal location. I felt that it really wanted a slightly longer season then my climate was prepared to provide this year.
There's not much else to report for now, but I'll update again once it's all been cured and tested.
