Auto breeding

I have a male purple dream that's so nice I have not kill it's just in veg. And I popped 6 fast and vast I was thinking of breeding them so it would be reg male to auto female would I get half autos ? any one know what this will bring my first seed project and it will a t5 4 foot 8 tube light HO do the t5 have the power to make good seeds thanks Jeff and how do I stablize the strain this is my first breeding is going to be fun all add vise is wełl taken

Some seedlings will take after mum and others after the dad.
Make seeds and grow again. Second generation(F2) show show some auto's.
Breed only auto male x auto female to make generation 3(F3).
Mate the F3 auto's only to make F4 seeds. By then you should have fully auto strain with F4 seeds.

I dont know anything about breeding but that sounds like a nice pairing. Potential to be a decent yeilder and some nice colour

so your photo male and an auto female going to do some breeding. Same here I got a Pineapple male (photo) and a pink grapefruit auto. I want to breed them to make more auto's. Can this be done or am I just wanting what is not possible? What do you think the results may be? A half auto and half photo or is is more auto because the female makes the seed? Any help on this topic will surely be a great help..

yes, that is possible Cookie! First, I would get your favorite soil and a bunch of 20oz. styro cups. Selection is what you are looking for. When crossing 2 of the same autos, selection is not needed, but photo to auto, you want the very best of the males and females. Symmetry, size, vigor, smell, height, all play a factor. grow out several males and pull the ones that dont have "the stuff" and keep the ones you like. Really you need only 1 male and he can pollenate a bunch of ladies. On the lady front, you want the same traits as the male, structure, symmetry, size vigor. With photo to auto, I would grow the males out first and collect the pollen and freeze it. Grow out the females and pick the chosen ones, and when they start throwing flowers, pull the vial of pollen out of the freeze and get a q tip or paint brush and paint your budsites.
the offspring of these will be your F1's. only 25% or less will auto. Here is where it gets good. finding the autos and the photos, killing the photos and selecting the autos the have "the stuff" you are looking for. Now you have F2's and will be 50% or more auto. Find the autos out of those and its smooth sailing with some fine selected genetics. Or one can just chuck some pollen and hope for the best. I prefer the selection process. You will be much happier with the autos you produce that way. Plus you can dial the strain in to having 2 to 3 pheno types of one strain and you will get used to working that strain and what she produces. Hope this long winded rebute helps!

@jt and cookie check your pms sent ya couple of links of some good breeding books that will sort you on your way in the right directions, please take the time to check some of them out possibly could save you a couple of years that I wish I read those first and saved myself a lot of time but none of it was wasted time as I did learn. A lot.... Also just as a tid bit I feel unless doing an open pollination with a lot of males and females of the same strain to keep the line going is cool otherwise auto or photo selection is always KEY! :Sharing One:
