Hey Guys that were here to last minutely advice me on my 1st attempt to grow. I was learning a lot reading but some of it was to late because I was well into growing already in the DWC. I ripped everything out of and starting fresh. I ran my DWC with Flora Klean for about 1 hr now and drained res. I will do one more and take the whole unit out and hit it with some hot water on outside so everything is freshly clean and I will scrub inside out. Now for my past mistakes that I made were this:
I was able to germ my previous seeds fairly well so I think I got a little cocky lol. I had put 4 in rock wool and I think I over watered them then because at the time I did have a seeding tray but no place to put the rock wools. They would just lay in the tray with constant water underneath them. To correct that I ordered a new tray with seedling inserts so I can pop the rapid rooters I got into them.
I also had a seeding tray before but like i mention it was just a tray and my rock wools and rapid rooters will just sit there in water. I tried my best not to over water. The other thing is the Humidity dome I had was humongous and so I got another one from Hydro farm that has the inserts and a smaller tighter dome.
I also had no root enhancers which I have some now which I will try and add this time around.
My plan of attack is this:
1) Germ seeds in a glad of PH adjusted water in Solo cup for 24-48hrs, let them get tap root pop out.
2) I seen some people which I like, put them in paper towel. Fold the papertowel so there is a crease. Put the taproot root down in crease so that it grows down in the crease. wait until it gets a little long , not to long so it doesnt go past the rapid rooter I will put it in.
3) When it reaches that size, put some technaflora rooting gel on it with latex gloves.
4) Put in rapid rooter
5)Put in seeding tray with dome and let them grow
That is my beggining steps for now.
My PH with distilled water that I have is 8.5 by the way.I did not measure PPM.
I put my seeds in ph water last night 12-12 @ 11:47pm.
12-13 @ 2:00pm checked to see if they dropped, they did not so I pushed them down.
