If I have one seed left of a strain that I love, I germinate it, let it grow, spray it with colloidal silver and let it self pollinate, will the seeds be stable? or will they be prone to hermi?
It will just depend on how stable / homogeneous the original strain was.
If it was something like a native Pakistani Kush or Kandahar, bred for hundreds of generations, then the selfed F1 is going to be pretty much the same.
If it was a two way cross of two different strains, then while that S1 (actually an F1) may look like it's sisters, selfing it is going to be a hybrid F2, which will show much variation.
And if it was some four way cross of very different strains, then it probably wouldn't look like it's sisters, and then selfing it will be a real mixed bag.
My advice would be, if you want to preserve that strain that you love, then when you self it, grow it really big and make a sh!t load of seeds.
That way more likely that some of the selfed F1 generation will look like mom.
You didn't mention if it's an auto or a photo.
If it's a photo, then of course -- clone it immediately, and make several clones.
That way, you can cross the selfed F1 back into mom herself.
Just some random thoughts, take em or leave em, haha!
