Irritating problems.

I'm just a softie LOL. The Atlantic has never struck me as warm. The Caribbean, now, that's a different thing. Maybe it's because I'm in an ocean and the Caribbean is a sea? @islandgrower will likely have better info on that than me

I believe what determines if it is an island is the size if the landmass . So is australia an island or not or as a matter of fact what is greenland.
