I think I'm going to do "Smartpots" with soilless mix/passive-hydro on the grow I'm starting. I want to try something different from hempy buckets this time.
I'm also passing out at work because critical+ isn't really the best all day smoke...
:smoker1:

Do you guys think 3gal fabric "Smartpots" are big enough for Dinafem Haze Xxl and Amnesia Xxl to show their full potential??

I'm not sure, the only real way to know is to do it yourself though. I'm growing 6 different FastBuds strains right now in fabric pots that are EXACTLY 3 gallon (12 wide, 10 tall). Only 9 days into it though.

Yeah, those are the same ones I'm looking at. Why did you choose those over bigger ones?

Butter, just put it in the fridge. :)

Well mine are VIVOSUN brand. If you normally grow in 5 gallon buckets I'd go with their 7 gallon pots, and they're cheaper for a 5 pack for some strange reason. I went with the 5 gallon fabric pots from VIVOSUN because I didn't know they were only three gallon when compared to a 5 gallon bucket. That being said I bought them so I figured I'd try them out.

I normally roll with 4 plants in 5 gallon bucket but I did 6. I suppose the plants will be smaller so I'll be able to fit more. If you're looking at buying VIVOSUN pots then I'd go with 7 gallon or once size larger, if you don't mind wasting soil. I'm not sure what your goals are though. I believe my autos reach their full potential in a 5 gallon bucket and I can only fit four... I have a 1,000 watt HID lighting system.

It's all in what you want I think. I've never used anything less than 5 gallon buckets. If you're trying to maximize the plants true ability then go with bigger pots, if you want to grow more strains and not have plants reach their full potential then go with smaller pots.

You new to growing?

I'm new to anything but hempy buckets anyway.
Until now I always used 5gal buckets, but they were not air-pruned or anything. The hempy buckets are kind of "designed" to get root-bound at the bottom, since that is essentially the rez.
But I am really wanting to try out the smart/air pots. It is just hard to find any over 3gal here. I would have to pay international shipping for the 5gal ones. But since yield is pretty much my main concern for this grow it might be worth it to have them sent over.

Yeah that's a shame! I normally order everything from Amazon.
