How beautiful! We have kestrels hunt in the barranco behind the flat, one actually flew into our gate the other day to catch itself a little lizard luncheon! We had a sparrowhawk in the garden back in the UK some years ago which flew right over hubby's head apparently - I was sadly at work so I didn't see it. Love birds of prey!

I had a Falcon dive bomb (and catch) a cardinal right in front of me last year. I was stupid amazed, the cardinals mate jumped on the falcons back to try and save its hubby, and they flew off to a tall cedar. Birds from all over the yard followed them up there and squawked like you never heard. I thought of it as a "council of birds" in my back yard. I immagined them saying to each other "what are we going to do about the falcon menace!"
and the answer, live with it, lol
