this one was easy, cost about 200 with all pumps. only tools needed was a jigsaw, tape measure, and paddle bit. First bush in it has a massive root ball, sitting in 16 gallons, and a big 6 inch net pot. I love it, it's gonna be a veg tent once I put together another one. I'm going with buckets, or bins. I have not decided. Don't be afraid of hydro, it's super easy. Or you can make it complicated too.View attachment 682616 I would alter a few things, and will in between grows.

I don't want complicated, certainly! Even deciding to go down this route is a big brave step for me LOL.

Yus my dear.

This one any good mate? https://www.hydroculture.co.uk/aquafarm-and-waterfarm

You really have to chase that! Actually found it for US $ 2.75 at a local store and cleared their inventory.

Amazon had it in packs of 25 units that, after adding shipping (not offered in Prime), came up to about 2.60 a unit.

Again, I wouldn't want to have a system that limits how far apart I can spread the plants. Someone said (don't remember who) that you can fill a room with x plants, or you can train one plant to cover the whole room. Can't do that if you have another plant too close and that you can't move into a separate room...

OK I can look for a better price if I go that way. So if I want to put 3 plants, different strains, in my 80 x 120 I would need 3 separate systems because they'll all have slightly different nute requirements. Or would I be better off just having 2 plants in there? Give each one 80 x 60 max?

OK folks, I want some advice please. I am looking to take my first steps into hydro (shock horror gasp) for my next grow. I'll have access to a tent with dimensions 80 (D) x 120 (W) x 180 (H). I am a complete novice and have never grown anything out of soil before.
Should I try a Wilma?
Should I try building @witchyhour 's buckets?
Should I try something else?
I need ease of construction, budget isn't too important as everything will be sourced in the UK. And I'm going over to LED lights.

So who grows in hydro? Pitch in please! :worship:I will bow to your experiences!
@Itisi @Bailey ... umm who else do I know grows in hydro? I should pay more attention! :pass:
I don't grow in hydro chick but if I was you I'd go dwc

Oh, Berry Bomb closeups!

That's a give and take deal. For something small scale, I prefer individual buckets because...

1) yes, you have more control over who's getting what. Right now, for example, I have one plant in bloom who's showing Nitrogen poisoning from my Calmag that has some in it (same Calmag everyone else just loves). So her food has to be mixed separate. I also have 2 plants with serious Calmag deficiency, so I add a bit of a squirt additional in their buckets;

2) if one plant gets too big, I can grab the other plant in that tent and place her somewhere else.

And those buckets are pretty cheap to make, I swear you can make them yourself, as long as you can use a power drill. [emoji6] [emoji106]
