Mephisto Genetics Any rosin aficionados out there in Mephistoville?

What duration of time do you press for usually? The mini is only 2 tons. Must be a hydraulic bottle jack inside the unit.

Pretty impressive yield. I don't care about yield. But its a lot of work so getting more for my effort would be nice.
I care about yield! Some Strains press better than others. Getting 25%-35% is really good. I will have to look into the nug smasher.

There is no way that high yield is because of the nug smasher press. 2 ton manual press is a baby press.
Some Strains yield very well. My hand press and some Strains like White Crack yielded a lot. However I couldn't press much at once. The 10 Ton yields better than the 6 Ton.

I press for 120 seconds every time.
I think a part of what some people are missing is the ability to really crank the hell out of the press. Like you said, it’s two TONS. Heat plus pressure= rosin no doubt. But I think most people with smaller presses are simply not able to get the full press due to lack of leverage or truly being able to get the full squeeze.

I don't currently have a press but I am inclined to agree with you. After catching up on this thread, checked with 1 of my neighbors and he has a 12 ton press just sitting around. Then Found some decent heated plates online for around $220
I think that is the route I am going to take.

Look at newvape.com for plates, controller and heater cartridges. Just get the basic plates. Machined in Florida. Good quality.

Also make sure that press and the ram is compatible with whatever plates you get. Plates with collars or the caged plates.

Nice you get to use someones press. That saves you money. And the way these plates kits work is you don't have to permanately mount them on the press. You can borrow the press setup the plates and do your pressing and then give the press back to the guy if you have to.

The yield you are getting could be from high quality bud. That is a big factor for sure. Your press is pretty basic so its not like its some high tech NASA press that is superior to other presses.
