The hour class icon that follows my cursor around wont go away.It is supposed to let you no that the computer is busy or working in the back ground.Once things are loaded its supposed to go away but goes off and on constinately.I tryed the pointer menu and picked no icon but it doesn't make it go away.

A simple reboot should fix your problem.

If that doesn't work be cautious and run a virus scan. It's sometimes an indication that malware is running in the background, though not always. I always go with caution though because I use the computer for banking.

Use Microsoft Security Essentials for anti virus management. It is free and works very well for detecting viruses.
If you have Windows 8, use Microsoft Defender from the same download link.

Good practice is to use Malwarebytes too. Start with Microsoft Security Essentials first and I can guide you with Malwarebytes if needed.
However the reboot most likely have fixed your problem.

The hour glass could be that your computer memory went into a spasm and locked itself up. A reboot clears all memory and loads only what it needs to run correctly.
However a virus(if you have one or more) would do unexpected functions on your computer.

I second that Dingo. More than likely a reboot has sorted the problem. But if not it doesn't hurt to check. Especially if you use your computer for anything sensitive. MalwareBytes is a damn good program.

That's actually a pretty mean trick to pull on someone too.change the cursor to waiting cursor.
Its like opening regedit and walking away.
Nothings wrong. ..but you dont know that :)
Amazing how the mind will create lags and glitches

Avast Home Edition
MalwareBytes Anti-Malware
Virus Free since 2003

Yeah I'd reboot if that doesn't work I'd start scanning for viruses. The one's I posted are great (and Free) IF you're already clean or slightly infected. If you have a bad inection you'd need a couple more programs to get totally clean. But you'll still only want to run Avast and Malware after you've cleaned your system. They are GREAT programs that I've been using for years with no virus.

Hi Vet best to make a good back-up!:wiz:

Reinstall the operating system!:check:

After that make a clean image so when the computer gets fucked-up you can put the clean image back!:key:
