Hi everyone! I am so happy to report excellent results growing Anvil f-9, @FullDuplex Gnome Automatics. Thank you for releasing the Anvil f-9. I know a lot of people have been waiting for it. Now are you working on 304 again? I'll have to catch up. Anybody else growing this? Let's see some pics.

I've been struggling with watering skills and found out that it was my soil. It had plenty of food and life for the plants, but it did not drain well. I bought a few bags of build a soil 3.0 and right away I saw my problem. My soil was way too heavy and lacked good drainage. I ran some plants in a Tray to Grow and a grassroots fabric bed filled with 3.0 and got some good results. The only thing that went wrong is that I let the soil get too wet when the plants slowed down. I did have to top water a few times as well.

I decided to continue making my own soil but with some major changes. First of all, pumice! Good drainage and a little less organic matter made a big difference. I loosely followed a soil formula from the BAS website. Instead of regular peat I used dark reed sedge peat which is moist and very dark. It seems to be much less hydrophobic if it dries out too much. In other words, it soaks up and releases water without much problem. I added some BAS amendments to the soil mix and that was it. Some straw for animal bedding as mulch and water only.

I planted three from a 5 pack and still have 5 left. Thanks for the extras! 2 went in the tray to grow with my newest soil mix. They started out identical twins. What happens in a tent when one plant gets more love than the one in the back. The big one takes over. Boy did it get big. You wonder, what if I get rid of the tent and give these plants some room. I left the tent doors open for the entire grow. The light from the 2x4 tent gave the front plant an advantage for sure. Now that I harvested plants in the other planter I can see how the smaller plant got shaded out. You can see yellow in the shaded leaves that has nothing to do with nutrients I would guess.
Day 75. I pollinated a few flowers on one branch so I'm letting it go 10 more days. (maybe lol) You can see this weird banding where one leaf was laying directly on another leaf.

Looks like a stellar yield on that thing! Well done and glad that she rewarded you so well.

That banding is common for me too under my LED lamps. Its almost as if the leaf gets a tan.
I cant wait to grow out the anvil i have! I just need room first! Might be a single plant grow considering how big they get and i grow in a 2x2 lol.

Welcome back :growing:

Great harvest. 4 jars full of nugs and a few oz to make hash. I bought some small jars to fill with Anvil for Christmas presents. It's Purple and tasty too. It really sparkles in the sunlight as it's covered in trichomes. A bit sticky when trimming. I had to keep switching out the scissors for clean ones. That's always a good sign.
I made a few seeds on one branch of the Anvil with CMD pollen I had in the freezer. I already planted them before the anvil was even dried and cured. Those plants popped up yesterday. This is gonna be fun.

For my current grow I got rid of the tent and just use the frame to hold up the lights. Shes a big girl if you give her the room.
I had a 4x4 next to a 5x5 and noticed all the dark places in the room that could be grow space. The plants seem to love the overlapping light and fresh breeze. I can get to all of the plants easily now.
If you were to grow it outside? Wow. I'd like a greenhouse full of those.

Where you been...you never mail...you never phone...?..... :pighug:
Been busy my friend with life in general. The tech job is demanding and my little guy just finished soccer. Getting the indoor started for the winter and finally getting a chance to slow down. Now that i have the Lab all finished and connected should see a few more updates this winter.

Ill make a dedicated thread to it since im gonna throw my hat into the 3rd american auto cup.
