Indoor Another MI5 and Onyx grow....

Things are coming along well. On the 29th the Onyx germinated and the next morning the last MI5 germinated. When I planted the sprouting seeds I dusted the root with Great White, and sprinkled a little where the seeds was going. Not sure if it helped or not, but didn't seem to harm them. On 12/2 the first planted seed was above ground and on 12/3 all the seeds were above ground.

I am using CFLs. I will have 12 26 watters going. Right now I have four on.

Too much stretch? Day 2

Thanks for the update flwr.. looks like you're off to a good start mate :D Using the GreatWhite is a great way to inoculate your soil with beneficial Mycorrhizal fungi (the advantages to harboring this micro-heard are many )

- Since your approach here is bio-organic (using GreatWhite as a soil inoculate) i'd go easy with the nutes (conc. < 0.1%), especially when using those with a high EC (which i'd avoid altogether) or your inoculation could be a wasted effort ..... You could suppliment the growing medium with amino acids and carbohydrates to assist with the proliferation and vitality of the colony; i prefer to use marine algae extracts which i obtain from various natural sources such as fish tanks/ponds ect... What soil compostion are you using? And what feeding regime do you have lined up?

I am going to do what I did in the first grow after transplanting. Using Roots Organic soil with some extra perlite. Plus, I mixed in some lime. As with my first grow I will be using Better Gro Orchid nutes. I believe Muddy is familiar with them. That is where I got the idea to use that brand. Also, I have unsulphered molasses and aerate my water. The Onyx I grew the first time did well with those nutes. I started off with 1/4 strength and worked my way up.

The yellow planter in the photo will be tiered into a black 3 gallon container when I pick up more soil on the 12th.

Sounds very well thought out. I like your setup too :D I'm not familiar with the BetterGroOrchid nutes but i'm sure it's highly recommended. Any news on that initial stretch? Your babies look very healthy

Thanks for your help Trifid. I love the new tent too. Coming from a rubbermaid I am loving the space. I am eyeing the stretch I think I am okay. This is really my first "normal" grow. My first grow the plants were miserable in the MG soil. Very stunted. However, I am still enjoying the bud :toke:

So looks like I made a mistake with the cfls. Throughout my last grow the flowering and veg bulbs became mixed up. Some said Helical 26 w or 26 w. I put the 26 watt cfls in for my current grow thinking that it was my veg bulbs. They have been under them for 7 days. Just figured out it was the flowering bulbs . What kinda harm could this do? I didn't see any starts of plant sex yet. I switched them to veg bulbs.

Here they are Day 7

Those are nice and healthy flwr, I can't think of anything bad using them for 7 days. Some use HPS straight thru with no problems. I like to mix the spectrums for veg. More blue then red thou.

Hey flwr, I'm in.
Remember my first grow- I had only red cfl's till very late in the game? ('Cuz I had my knowledge bass-ackwards...) For some reason that girl grew like crazy, though. This time I got it right. lol I'm starting off with 136w blue and only 46w red mixed in. When they start flowering, I'll add the 125w red on top of that.

This should be fun, compairing both of out current grows! Good Karma for some healthy plants coming your way!!
:smokebuds:

Thanks Noods and Jackal. I was worried about messing them up, but they are growing well. These should be a lot smellier than my last grow. I can already catch a faint whiff. Buying an actual carbon filter this time. Last grow I went without one. Pretty cool to have someone else with the plants the exact same age. I agree fun to compare :toke:
