Welcome to AFN dusto! You'll enjoy it here, there's lots of informative information and helpful folks. It's a great place to learn and help your plants reach their true potential.

Your setup sounds and looks really nice man, I'm jealous! I want to get a tri-band LED but it's not in the budget right now. Haha.

What caused the issue that made it so you had to transplant so early on? It's always good to share experiences to help other new growers, cannabis is an ancient plant but people start growing her everyday and knowledge is power!

As for the ballast question, if the hard wood floors are finished get either an unfinished piece of wood or a masonry patio block (from Lowe's or HD, less than 2 bucks) and set it on top of that. If it's digital it'll never get hot enough to start a fire but it will tarnish the finish of the floors eventually if left unmoved.

What's the name of the soil you're using?
What are your temps?
Where/how are the fans positioned?
Do you have PH testing equipment?
What kind of water are you using? If it's tap, are you letting it sit?

I ask because the HBD looks pretty good but it looks to me as if it might have some PH problems or stress inducers. The newer fan leaves are kind of tacoing (the plant is trying to transpire/shed some water/stay cool) and the leaves aren't a uniform color. Don't know if it's the lighting/camera but they appear to have lighter green tips and greyish/green almost brownish green leaves?

I'd look into getting some better soil or making your own for the Pineapple Express (can be done from local nursery supplies or even lowes's/hd on a budget), it SOUNDS complicated but it's very easy and your plants will LOVE you for it. My local nursery carries FF Ocean Forest for 12.99 for 1.5 cu ft after tax. Check around! Or use a soil-less setup and control your nutes from the start if brave enough!

Again welcome to AFN and look forward to watching your plants grow strong and healthy!

Good karma sent for positive experiences!

thanks for stopping by Whatsgoodie

the soil was just a potting soil generic from wal mart believe it r not we have 0 garden shops in my town however I do have the ff ocean forest in transit for my next go with the pineapple my temps are ranging up to 80 on the high side and 70 on the low side I use the general hydro ph up and down on my water after I add my nutes makeing sure it gets good and yellowish green I have a ph meter from lowes stick it in the dirt and it tells you ph light and moisture but th it's not accurate imo I'll be investing in a better one at some point i have 1 fan hanging blowing the top air around and my 6"inline fan is hooked to my cool tube drawing air directly out of the tent .. looking at my leaves I see what you mean the only thing (other than cheap soil ) i can think of would be maybe yesterday was the 1st day under the 400 watter its been riding under the led waiting on shippping that may have induced a little stress and I just checked with the new light my soil had dried up a bit and my tap water is always high I do let it sit with no cap for 24 hours then add my nutes then balance it with the up or dow n That brown on the leaves and stuff is still left over from the 1st feeding I gave her I burned her bad lol and the 1st transplant was I didnt use anything to air my soil great mistake to learn from because after 2 waterings she was just sitting in a mud bath thats when i discovered perlite ! lol
thanks for the comments and the welcome !

Awesome killa I'll stay tuned for your grow see how they go along get a idea of what i am looking forward to:jump:

I'm a 1st timer myself My friend! So I dont know a whole lot and I'm using hydro. but I'm really liking the set up especially the LED, interested in the output of those. what kind of spectrum does it put out and is it adjustable?
best of luck with it!

Ah.
Yeah I'd recommend a digital tester and some calibration solution as soon as possible. The strips aren't the most accurate once you add nutrients / color to the solution. (In my experience and reading, that is.)

The newest growth at the very top does look very rich - I just wanted to make sure if there was a problem you had it corrected. Didn't mean to cause panic, so I hope it didn't come off that way. The lighting intensity switch (very low intensity(LED) to very high intensity(HID)) could definitely cause some stress but she should bounce back fine. How far is she from the light? Usually when you switch intensities you want to introduce it in variable distances, i.e: 18", 14", 10", 6", (2" is very possible using a cooltube or air cooled hood, if not 4" is fine).. since it can be a stress inducer for the plants. Either way it doesn't cause any sort of extreme stunting especially when the plant is at the size you have it at. She should bounce back just fine!

Definitely a nice setup man! Will last you long and show you some good yields, definitely sounds like you did your reading.

One other thing I'd recommend if you haven't / don't already is aerating your water. I usually aerate my tap for 24 hours, put my nutrients in and let it aerate about another hour to hour and a half then PH it and let it aerate for about 30-45 minutes. This way I know I'm not putting a solution that is still fluctuating into my soil.

Google "Nursery" and your zip code, you'd be shocked - it might be better to drive 20-35 minutes each way than to pay the shipping on FFOF. A lot of nurseries carry it now a days or a similar product. It's awesome for veggies and it's the perfect season for it. It's RIDICULOUS shipped. I bought my first two bags online - ran me $63 for 3 CU Ft.

With the FF OF remember it's a very rich soil - so no nutes or VERY light nutes depending on signs for the first ~3-4 weeks!! (I made the mistake of feeding after repotting to FFOF.. you think your leaves are burned?!? Haha)

Subbed for the long run, can't wait to see the results of using all that lighting spectrum (LED + HPS = killer photosynthesis)

Welcome dustojohnso!
You've been given a ton of advice already so stopping by to welcome you to the site!

you know I am kinda well Im lost on the whole spectrum but if you wanna look at it its on ebay from htg supply that's where i bought it I was just toying around when I bought it keeping it small lower costs etc but I really don't think it will give me what I was looking for as far as more than 1 plant so I added the 400 as it is my only hobby I set out for a closet grow and now have about a 600$ tent set up lol and love it !
