Grow Mediums AKsteel's First DWC, Mephisto Mystery Seed

UPDATE DAY 1
Today I potted up the sprout. I had a little tap root coming out the bottom of the root riot cube so I potted her up. I put about an inch of grow stone in the bottom of the net pot then placed the cube on top then back filled with more grow stone. The grow stone had been rinsed and left out to dry for a couple of days. Filled the res up with 15L of tap water, left out for 24 hrs and added 7ml voodoo juice and 4ml root excelarator. Tap water ppm 148(well water), after nutes ppm 228. Solution PH= 6.0. The PH started at 5.8 but after 24 hours of bubbling it stabilized at 6.0. I know the water source is not optimum but it's what I have to work with right now, so I'm just going to monitor it and see what happens. I have the light set at 24" above the sprout and water temps are solid at 64F.

Awesome AKsteel. You to see the joys of a bubble bucket! I just started another Bomb Seeds Cherry Bomb and she is a few days ahead of your plants here. In case you have not done so already PLEASE top off the basket with grow stone. We don't want any light getting into the bucket.

Thanks for the heads up @HotBunz . Do you have a journal going for your Cherry Bomb?

DAY 6 UPDATE:
So, I realize I am totally out of my element with DWC style growing. I am not sure what to expect so I am not sure if I am doing something wrong or if I am just being over anxious or just paranoid.
I have found that my ph is going up almost a full point within 24 hours. So I ph down to 5.5 and 24 hours later I am at 6.3-6.5. I have only put root excelerator and voodoo juice in the res. Total of 2ml root excelerator and 16ml of voodoo juice to 16 liters of water.
The growth does not look great and the leaves are starting to twist and get a little lighter in color.
I am not sure if I should continue to top feed or maybe raise the level of the water in the res so it bubbles more up into the grow stone. No roots showing yet and I don't even see the start of any new leaves.
The res level is just a little below the level of the net pot and I have been top feeding maybe a cup of res fluid twice a day. I almost think I am over saturating the root riot cube. Also, there is no new vertical growth. Light height was pretty high, 30 inches so I was actually expecting a little stretch. Not the case.
I will post some pics. Any advice or thoughts would be most appreciated. Happy growing folks :thanks:

when I started dwc I had the water just over the bottom of the net pot (I also top fed ) until the roots are a good inch or two in the water then lower the level a bit and I now keep it about 1 inch below the net pot also I started out like I do in coco (my water is soft) my start mix was 0.5 ml liquid silica,0.5 ml cal mag,2 ml rhizotonic, and 1 ml dutch pro grow A+B each per ltr of water ph'd to 5.6 and it drifted to 6 the next day ph'd it again to 5.7 then it levels out around 5.9 its when the roots hit he water a week or two later then boom big plant time hope that helps also if you add your base nutes at 1/4 strength it might help with your ph fluctuations :pass:

Hey ya AK, Wile e, is shootin ya straight. Water to the top of the net pot. Start at 1/8th the feed schedule for week 1 and that will give the water something to buffer and keep your ph stable. I have tried dwc 2 times and got plants to week 6 and all hell broke loose with ph and heat problems for me, but stay at it and its OK to be out of your comfort zone!

Thank you @Wile e Peyote for the help. Added Sensi grow A&B to the res to try and balance ph, .5ml per liter. Then raised the water level a little. Dropped another seed just in case I totally ruin this one, but I'll see what she does in the next few days.

Thanks for the support @briman. I'm pretty sure I will get the DWC figured out since I have all the experience in the world helping me here:thumbsup:. I have plenty of jars of meds set aside so it doesn't hurt to start doing something new even if I screw it up once or twice
