So a few people have posted pics/complaints of their recent AKR's turning full blown hermie for no apparent reason. After happening twice in a row in the same conditions as one from a previous batch was grown, I am inclined to believe any other seeds from that batch will carry the genetics.

The strain produces great bud, and is top notch in terms of potency, but for breeding purposes, or even selfing for more of the same, having multiple herms in the batch is scary.

What do you recommend as another auto to replace AKR with the following qualities:
-Kushy smell/taste (earthy/classic "marijuana smell" like what you recognize walking in the street through someones house but better quality lol)
-Frosty
-Dense <-Important to have dense nugs
-Strong indica, narcotic, muscle relaxing/music enhancing, couch lock effect

If you were to grow an AKR from this batch, and it didn't hermie on you, would you bother trying to self it to get more seeds to work with/stabilize? You should be able to tell within a generation or two of selfing if you are working with a hermie'ing genetic line or not, no? The genetics aside from the hermie risk are very good, so it sucks to let the strain kinda die out.

I wouldn't risk it, from what I heard/read it's not a good idea to self plants. Always better to pollinate another plant or clone

I agree, anything that hermies shouldn't be bred. Have you contacted World of Seeds about the hermie problems? If not, you should. If it's a known issue they might send you some replacements of good stock. If they aren't aware, link them here so they can see the problem. Their gear is usually first rate and I'll bet they will make things right with you.

Just to be clear,I wasn't suggesting breeding using one of the ones that hermied. Just if one from he same batch didn't hermie. I'm not that crazy haha

I have not. Is there a proper way to complain about such an issue? I know a lot of seedbanks won't talk about even germination.

Shoot them an email anyway, it's not good rep for them. So they should fix it

The one that didn't hermie may have came from the same batch so it might not be a good idea.

Also it's not a good idea to self a plant regardless if it's known for herming or not, always better to pollinate a clone or another plant

Yea hopefully they do.

Also, I agree. It's a big risk. (edit* using the seeds from the same batch) If they could fix the situation with some non-hermie AKR seeds, that'd be best, because it is an awesome strain. Would be a shame for it to get ruined, or ignored.

As somone who just lost over 10,000$ in potential profits and 20+ plants and the body count still rising. Hermies are the biggest threat to any autoflower grow. I made the mistake of going against my instincts and trusting some more "exsperienced" growers judgement on here and it cost me more than I could imagine. I had to scrap all my plants most mid flower and very big and alot of work and money invested. Then days of bleaching and washing and sanitizing with achahol every inch, power cord, light, fan ECT. And hope I got all the pollen. The next time I even think a plant might be a hermie it's getting tossed asap.

This is just flat out wrong, please don't spread misinformation about things that you apparently don't have experience with or first hand science based knowledge of. Many of the top autoflower breeders in the world have used S1s to create many of the strains we all grow.

Edit: Lol, @Tyler_Durden88 I just realized you necro'd this. I'm gonna go hide my head in shame now.
