Hello all, this is my first grow so I'm gonna try to document everything and hopefully get help when and where needed.

First things first, the seeds. I got my seeds from Attitude. Order 3 Dinafem OG Kush Auto Feminized seeds just to have a simple first grow of all the same strain.

After weeks of shopping around looking at Grow Tent Bundles, I finally decided to get everything separate, which in turn saved me money and allowed me to get more things within my budget. I won't go into detail over the prices but if u see something in my pics and want to know prices, just ask.

Germination:

I used the paper towel method to germinate my seeds. Initially I had them in my attic but temps can be up in the high 90s even 100+ up there so I moved them to a closet with my water heater after about 5 hrs. Seeds took just under 48 hrs to germinate and we're ready to go in the soil.

Soil:

I used a thread here by Full Duplex as a guide for my soil. Once I mixed everything in, the ph of the soil came out just under 7, at 6.8.

My tent measurements are 36"×36"×73".

I'm running a 300w LED a little over 8" above the plants and on an 18/6 schedule.
I have the seeds planted in 16 oz cups as I will be using the tiered method once the plants start getting bigger.

Also running 4" Fan/Carbon Filter combo exhausting out above the tent pointed directly at a ceiling fan to circulate that air.

DON'T LAUGH AT MY LABELING OF ALL 3 ALTHOUGH THEIR ALL OG KUSH. I LABELED JUST FOR THE FUN OF IT [emoji1]

As of right now, I'm getting 43% humidity with a 41/64 low and high with 77 degrees with 72/81 low and high.

I am only at Day 1 as I want to document this entire grow.

Hi Airbuds! looking good! Nice to see Full D's soil mix and tiering method still being used (think it was Full D that started the tiering!)

Looks like you have the bits and bobs you need :)

Just thought (although i'm not a soil grower anymore) - you may need to work on that soil a little more as the PH seems a little high. Or maybe re-check the readings?

From memory, I think 6.2 is about the right place to start in soil. :)

Looking forward to seeing how you get on!
All the best

Thanks for the heads up.

Hey bro nice looking setup for a first grow. I think you might want to raise that LED up tho, 8" seems really close for 1 day old seedlings. I believe 24-30" is typically a good starting height.

Good luck with the grow :Sharing One:

3 Og Kush Autos:Cool bud: Nice set up bro, day 1 is always a fun day enjoy them while their you they grow so fast(tear) lol :styles rasta:the forum bro and cant wait for more updates! :peace:

Hey i grow in soil and i always say to get as close to 6.5 as possible range i use is 6.4-6.7 anything under 6.4 locks out Cal+Mag so i tell everyone to avoid lower than 6.4 ph unless your using soiless medium like coco. 6.8 is a little high but not bad try to get it down at least to 6.6 if possible.

Thanks I will do.. its in darkness now but I'll go home on my lunch break and raise it before it's time for the lights to come on

looking real good bruh! the og kushi is lovely

What's a good watering schedule and how much water should I be giving each plant?

Hey there AirBuds, welcome aboard! A few comments on your setup. Are you using one of those cheapo hardware store soil pH meters? If so, ditch that sucker ASAP as it will most certainly steer you wrong. Ideally you would want to have a high quality soil tester like an Accurate 8, but in the meantime you will be better off doing runoff testing. You do that by using a liquid pH tester to get the value on your water, then test the runoff from the bottom of the pot and see how it compares. If you are putting in 6.5 and it comes out 5.5, you need to raise it, and vice versa.

As for watering, I'm not going to lie to you - it's one of the toughest things for new growers to master. While you're in the cups, just water them enough to get a few drops out the bottom when you feel the weight getting light. Getting it right in a big tub of soil is going to be even more of a challenge. I use the weight method where I test the weight of the pot when fully watered and then take notice of how much lighter it is when dried out. You can even use a bathroom scale to help with this while you get the hang of it. The general rule as a new grower is let them get more dry than your instinct tells you. You want those young roots spreading out and seeking water, not sitting in dampness all day. There are far, far more problems caused by overwatering than underwatering. So let that sucker get as dry as you dare, and then wait another day. How long that will be is something that will be very difficult to tell you given the container you are using. I usually grow in 3 gallon pots and they need water roughly every 3 days. Less when they're young and more when they are close to harvest.

Hope this helps & good luck with everything!

Wow thanks.. so much good info..
first. .yes I used that cheap ph tester while waiting for my high quality one to come in from Amazon.

Also all the soil in the bin will be moved to 3 gallon smart pots today as they have come in from Amazon n waiting for me on my door step.

Also I do have a liquid tester and will test the run off using that and see what results it gives me.

Thanks for watering Advice also
