Hey guys i was considering getting some air-pots and have a few questions for those that use them...:smokebuds:

1. Is it harder to water them? i read that when you water them water comes out of all the holes and can be a mess..how do you thoroughly water them without it all just coming out?

2. Do they dry out faster than regular pots? would i have to water more frequently?

3. This may be a stupid question but are they more susceptible to bugs due to all the open holes? with all the holes cant a fungus gnat or any other critter just basically walk right in lol? i know with a regular plastic pot for a bug problem you can just put sand on top and they can no longer go in and out or it will shred them but wouldnt this be pointless in an air-pot? cant any critter fly in and out through the holes?

just thought id ask these questions before i go ahead and spend like $17 per pot cause im considering the 20L :stylez rasta smoke:

thanks for any help :smokebuds:

I've got answers!

1) Not harder per say, but you need to water them slower, and not around the edges.
2) Yes they do dry out quicker, and yes you water more. But that is an advantage seeing how you feed every other watering.
3) If you have bugs in your grow area I'd think yes. But a clean grow room is a happy grow room.

3 gallon equivalent is more then big enough, red base. I've got a Jack 47 thats over three feet tall in one right now!

hey bro i used the 6L airpots on my last grow, its not so much harder its more time consuming imo, you REALLY need to take your time when watering or as you said the water WILL fly out the holes as though you had shot a water tank, not to mention the soil that it flushes out as well so it can be messy IF you dont take your time, they do dry out quicker as well i think i was feeding 1 - 1.5L a day, and with the bugs i cant help you on that one although some growers put womens tights over the airpot to try help with that i think. hope this helps :peace:

Nice questions. And the answers to your questions have helped me and thanks you for that

If you get gnats often the airpots are hell. I ended up plastic wrapping my last grow because of them. I've only used them on 2 grows. I have 2 5gal and 4 2.?gal. They do work well though, just a little more time consuming

I've got what was sold to me as the 3 gallon equivalent (2.2 gal actual) Airpot and my base is yellow. I believe the red base is the 2 gallon equivalent http://www.amazon.com/Superoots-Air-Pot-Gallon-Equivalent-Pack/dp/B00DEQYSX2/ref=sr_1_3?s=lawn-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1381970776&sr=1-3&keywords=airpots
Spot on about the rest though. I like mine, but I'm also thinking about switching from organic nutes on my next grow so I can use drippers. Watering has become an every-other-day chore, even if I generally enjoy it.

My 5 gal has green bottom and 3 blue screws. My 2.? Are red with 1 blue screw
