Thanks. You can get great results from less expensive ones. When I was getting ready to upgrade I was going to get a 900w Blackstar but saw that California Lightworks had a growing program where you could get it for 1000 bucks vice 2000..so took advantage of it. I am very impressed with Blackstar products. Advanced LED, Magnum 357, Penetrator products all seem to grow well. The Magnum 357s are immensely popular if you do some searching.

I also have a Blackstar 240w LED Panel and was very pleased with it. I used to only grow with a 600w HPS system and CFL side lighting but decided to jump ship and have not really looked back. I still suggest HID lighting though...bar far cheaper start up cost and 100% good grows usually. LED not so much takes alot of research need to spend alot and take a big jump of faith.

If your a HID owner I would highly suggest adding LED to the mix like a Blackstar 180w panel or something. HID systems produce abundant spectrum for growth and flowering but miss all the spectrum inbetween. A plant uses the majority of the spectrum that they give off but they also use the other spectrums. Adding a LED to the mix makes your grow closer to a full spectrum lighting system. Your plants will like you alot if you do.

Took my Afghan Kush Ryder out of the brown bag and did a final trim about 2.1 ounces all in jars now curing. I love the final trim since its very smokeable. I have a whole container filled with it so lots to smoke especially using my da Buddha Vape without touching the buds. Gonna have a equal amount of dope from my remaining Afghan that I will chop next week.

How many plants in total are you growing under the Lightworks LED panel? Is this the only plant you've harvested thus far? I've seen some posting about this light elsewhere and wanted to ask someone who has one, do they really consume 800W of power? Bud size looks really nice.

Recently I bought a 50W Blackstar UV model to run in my next test where I will be comparing the 21X-PRO from Hydro Grow, this 50W UFO, and the Kessil H150 Purple. I wanted to comment that I was very disappointed when receiving the Blackstar. The Blackstar was sold and listed as a 50W UFO, with a description stating that it contains 50 x 1W LED's, however when I tested it on my Kill-a-Watt the light consumed only 21W. If these were really 1W LED's, there is no way the light would consume only 21W... The Blackstar lights are being falsely marketed as being far more powerful than they really are, leading the consumer to believe you're getting a "good deal" since you assume a "240W" light is really a 240W light, and likewise you assume a "50W" light is really a 50W light (not 21W). Unfortunately this is not the case, nor does the company list the actual wattage draw on their lights making their marketing even more mis-leading for consumers like me...

For what it's worth, I also noticed Blackstar is using 2 different sized chips in this 50W UFO, some that are teeny-tiny (probably 1/2W), and others (around the outside edge) that look normal (1W). I would not personally buy from this company again as I got 60% less than what I paid for. I'm interested to see what your GPW is though with this Lightworks model :smoke:

On Flower mode with UVB lights on it consumes 700 watts of electricity...I have a killawatt so its accurate. If you read the whole journal harvested another as well. I have if you include those two 9 total in there.

Most us realize the that LEDs pull less then advertised. My Blackstar 240 pulls about 140. LEDs can not be run at full power usually half power. Thats where the disconnect comes from. It all depends on who you ask and how honest they are if they will tell you. California Lightworks puts actual pull in all there stuff. Its 800 watts because there are 160 5 watt LED Diodes.

One of the reasons I went with this model. Its virtually 100% American..not chinese. Its 5 watt diodes and it pulls alot of watts.

Some pics fellow blades. This is my last auto I got in my tent...another Afghan Kush. Fucker is huge for a 1 gallon airpot. 28 inches tall about and 24 inches wide give or take some. The pictures are a good example of what a plant should look like when its ready for harvest. Far to many people harvest to early. I use a combo of looks and trichomes to let me know...I never go by a set weeks. Thats just a rule of thumb. Anyhow her buds are hella dense, pistals are all amber retracted, and the die off of leaves has begun. All good signs its time. Her trichomes are a combo of amber and milky. Just the way I like it.

100% grown under LED goodness. Excellent proof that you can get copious hard dense nuggets under LED. I had her under a Blackstar 240w for about 2-3 weeks. All the rest has been under the Solarstorm with UVB turned on. I got 8.5 ounces wet 2.2 ounces dry off the last one. I expect more since she is much bigger then the one I harvested last week.

Nice, that is a serious haul - I love what I've seen/heard about AFKR - want to grow it perpetually under crappy CFL bulbs in a micro case - a little worried about controlling odor though, but 2 ft plants I am hoping should be controllable...nice job man
