Glad to see a growreport of the solarstorm here in combination with an other great product wich is also on my purchase list "Air-Pots". I like to know how future products perform en is nice to see it here. I will follow this thread to see how it progress.

love to see new LED brands being tested :) keep spreading the knowledge. and 35lbs wow just hope that light doesn't bring down your whole tent. mad respect for going all in with the led thou. Do you have to pay the other half of the price if you keep the light and everything works out or is it a deal just for spreading the word about the company?

Dude you'll love 4.6 gallon ones!. The biggest I have are 3 gallon ones and they get big in that. Whats cool about them is I don't think its possible to overwater a plant in them. They get awesome airflow to with all the holes. Plus there reusable. I like smart pots as well but there terribly hard to clean so I end up throwing them out sometimes after a grow.

Your math is wrong. I have a Blackstar 240w LED Panel and it pulls only about 130-135 watts...thats measuring using my killawatt. So if you had 10 of them it would be about 1300 watts. Solarstorm pulls close to 700 watts. So if you had 2 of them it would exceed 10 Blackstars wattage wise.

There are other factors to with LED purchases. 5 watt diodes offer maximum light penetration. Other LEDs have 60 degree, 90 degree lens to focus the light because of there lack of penetration. When you add a secondary lenses to anything you have some form of loss. Solarstorm uses 120 degree because the 5 watt diodes blast there way through the plant. They have no secondary optics. I used to be a electronics tech for the Marine Corp for 10 years. A good example of loss is we had radios that were connected to antennas. We were not getting the range we wanted out them took about the cabinet that they were in and they had all these barrel connectors connecting the antenna cable to the outside. Each barrel connector there was about a 5 watt loss. A 55 watt radio that should of had a range of 200 miles was dumbed down to about 50 miles. Removed all the connectors ran a straight cable and could all of a sudden talk our maximum range. Same thing with lens on optics. Only analogy I could think of!!!

California Lightworks has been around for some time. Not sure the exact length. They give a 2 year warranty.

Also virtually all American parts sourced from the US made by Americans.

Not ragging on the Blackstar. I own one and love it...for what it is and for the price really is a good grow lamp.

Nope I get to keep it for what I paid and if I don't like it after 90 days I get all my money back no strings attached. Well just one I have to keep a grow journal on the internet for them. Thats it.

Check out smart pots. There made of fabric vice ridge plastic. You do have to have some sort of caddy underneath though for airflow but a simple grate bought a home depot would solve that. I think there kinda sorta better because there squarish and you can pack the suckers in. Airpots rock though. The design is simple and I imagine 10 years from now I will still be using them. One thing on them sometimes they ship them with one screw...my case on my 3 gallon ones or two screws the case in my 1 gallon ones. The screws hold them together so if you only get one you'll need a zip tie to keep it secure. Also pay attention to the orientation of them. The top even though its not labeled has no holes on the top row. The bottom does. I did mine upside down so when I water some dirt comes out, and the bottom the roots grew through the mesh holding the soil in and right now to the floor because theres no light to "air prune" them. Really not a issue other then annoying though. Other then that they kick ass. Heres what a 3 gallon one looks like after harvest. Notice you can't see the roots...because there a super fine mesh inside. Any normal pot I have ever used the roots are bigger wrap all around doesn't matter the plant just does.

I have resigned myself that I have to water every day lol. I just watered with ph balanced water today to flush out some of the nutes. Been giving her a lot of nutes lately...no issues with it but thought just ph balanced water only would be good tonight. Buds are growing all over. I wonder how much they will yield?

rhapsodyrcks,
I think the 15 liter (sorry, living in Europe) air-pots would be suffient for this grow. About two years ago a bought a product called Blumat (do a google search, they are also on ebay) and they water my plany exceptionally well. They are affordable and they have different sizes. Give it a try!
