yeah just spook to vic! he said he can do two of the new chrome with shipping for 620 usd which is 440 quid so with tax your looking at 480 so not much saving on 2 quantum bloom 240's. im not gonna deal with grow northern yet as talk on the LED thread was a bit unsure about them.

the quantum looks good, you have a link to there grows? maybe i will email them see if i can get a cheap deal in return for a diary

Nice man vics a good guy..I don't have any links mate sorry,tony messaged me with a link to there site and saying there good panels.out of GN and quantum I'd go with quantum too,there spectrum is virtually the same as blackstar and they use top quality 3w chips.GN use quality components too but I think quantums spectrum is better mate.

I should also say that Hydrogrow LED have (obviously, I hope) REALLY impressed me after what Seymour has shown and we have made a special mention of them in the Dutch Passion blog. It seems that the 3W diode has been something of a turning point for the LED business. I am not an expert at all, so I can only go on what I see, but the last year must have been an exciting time for those that sell/use LED

I'm getting reports now of older (3 years) led lights being completely worthless. So bad that one grow I have seen replaced a led with a cfl... He was using a led 18hrs for veg and his plants wouldnt grow 10" in 3 months...

I'm wondering what will happen in 3-5years when people have running led's ... that no longer grow plants... Will a manufacturer be replacing lights that still work, but dont grow... I personally think not.

I just texted this guy and will get the make and model...like I said its an older one so its good to have failure info, its not any of the one in question here...

Yeah it's good info to have cres,with LEDs being quite new the lifespan of the products is still largely unknown.im guessing with the older models running 1w chips I think they ran them close to full power which shortens the lifespan,with the 3w chips they don't run at full power which increases the lifespan of the product

yup light bulbs are still working but no growth, he plugged in 4 cfls and instant growth...

tony have you seen any grows with the quantum leds? http://www.quantumledbloom.co.uk/servlet/StoreFront hydrogrow would be my first choice but im in the uk and want uk back up plus there gear is very very expensive... and with how fast the LED market is moving theres no point spending so much right now when maybe in a year you will get the same 1000 pound light for 250..
