Hello ladies and gents!
Thought I'd do a journal for this grow. My first grow didn't go as planned and I ended up with about 18 grams between 3 plants. That was a soil grow with autoflowers. I've decided to give DWC and photoperiod plants a try now. Hopefully I have a better outcome this time round. ;D
Now on to the meat and potatoes!
List of stuff I have for this grow.
36" x 36" x 72" grow tent
300 watt led (about 190 actual)
Couple of different spectrum CFLS that I hope I don't need to use.
5 gallon DWC bucket
2 gallon equiv Air pot.
GH grow/micro/bloom nutes
Ocean Forest soil
Sea grow by grow more (organic nutes)
Phat filter. - Was only like 65 bucks or so including shipping and it works great!
4 inch inline fan.
15 lpm air pump
The famous accurite thermometer
Garden lime
ph up/down
Drop ph tester
PPM/water temp meter.
rockwool cubes
Gold Master Zone- for my root protection/prevention
I ordered 10 (+1 freebie auto diva) AK 47 seeds from greenparrotseeds. First time ordering from them and it was a great experience. The Stealth kind of sucked but you can't beat 10 seeds for 53$ with free shipping. I'm definitely ordering from them again.
I germed two AK 47's and placed them into rockwool cubes. They sprouted the next day. I spent all day yesterday setting up my new grow tent and getting everything situated. While I was doing that I put 2x 23w 6500k cfls over the babies. I left them like that until this morning. Woke up and put them in the tent under the LED. Not really sure how far away they are at the moment but it's a pretty good distance.
I know I didn't have to put both of them in rockwool cubes but I figured it would be a great idea to get the seedling started with zero nutes in the cube and then put the cube into the pot with the soil.
The game plan!
I plan on growing 2 plants side by side. One using DWC and the other Soil. Both will use different nutes and the DWC plant will be scrogged. I will let the plants grow out under a 19/5 light schedule for the next 3 weeks or so before I switch to 12/12 for flower.
I really hope this grow goes a lot better than my first. This is technically my 3rd grow but my 2nd grow only got to week 2 and then it slowly died. Still not sure what exactly I did wrong but I think it was root rot from my rockwool cube being too wet. Suffice to say I'm back to buying my smoke atm and I need these plants to produce! can't afford to keep paying these prices for my bud and the thought of having to continue to pay for the next 3 months of this grow make me want to stab myself. ;D
