Hi Seymour, Could you elaborate about the height that you hang your lights from the canopy, especially in the early days of the plants life. Are the lamp closer the bigger the plants get? What are the symptoms you experiences if you place the lights to closed tot the leafs. Thanks in advance. :gthumb:
i always start my plants with the light @ 32" above the seedlings and only run them at 1/2 power, then i let them grow towards the light, the only reason i run my lights at half power is to keep the temps down in the dwc buckets and keep the res temps below 70, when the plants have enough leaf coverage to shade the buckets i will switch them to full power as the leaves are now absorbing the heat from the light whilst at the same time keeping the buckets cool

when they hit stetch ill adjust my lights accordingly maintaing them between 12"-20" from the plants, depending on the types of flowers you want depends on how close you have the lights, if you have them @ 12" they will be nice and tight and obviously the further away you take them the more airy they get, its trial and error as each l.e.d light will be different especially depending on the degree of the lens

you will get light saturation if you have the lights too close as the plants cant transfer the light into energy/food quick enough so it becomes to intense for the plant to handle

sometimes this can be counter balanced depending on how much you increase their feed by, if you have the lights too close they will need extra feed to balance everything out, its a bit like if you were standing in the sun and the sun started to get closer and closer you would need extra water to maintain a safe body temprature followed by nutrients to maintain health untill you hit the breaking point where it doesnt matter how much feed or water you have the intensity is to strong, im pretty sure each plant will have a different threshold as to how much they can take before hitting breaking point i always find sativa strains to have a lower threshold than indicas but im not sure if this id due to idicas being better suited to indoor growing, its up to you as the grower how hard you wanna push your plants

hope this helps

day 24

cant really fault the way these 2 ladies are growing at the minute but im not to sure what to expect and which direction they are gonna take in terms of width and height i just dont want anything too tall, i have a vision in my mind of what id like to see take shape with this grow but wether or not i can make it a reality remains to be seen

not getting much in the way of aroma at the minute as they both seem pretty stealth at this stage of developement, my lights are still at half power but i will switch them up some time this week

pics, pretty much text book growing so far
