Insane for 300w. King Sh*t
Seymour,......the 2 storms are looking great..........massive as usual, with your in DWC..........Seymour you mentioned this; earlier in the thread etc...
Quote; given the circumstances the girls arent doing to bad considering the whole grow has been performed with only 300 watts and im pretty certain ill break the 1gpw
It is better to measure the outcomes in GPKw (Gram's Produced Per Kilowatt Used),,,,,,,,,,i am expecting around 680g dry, i have used in 14.8wks 1366 Kilowatts lecky........680g divide by 1366Kw = 0.49g/Kw used. nearly half a gram per kw used........tavidudes just weighed in with 0.161g/Kw usung 2200w of lighting at 3722kw used and yielded 588g..........GPKw = 0.161g.........no where near half gram Kw !!....
I just don't think that GPW (Gram per Watt) tell's you anything useful.......what dose 1w diode cost to run over 10-14wks ??...252hrs ??......what are the photon emission rates ?/.......at least with GPKw (Gram per kilowatt Used) you know what a single gram cost to produce.....1 gram of Outlaw cost me 19p each g,.........thats worth knowing.........what we need is a 250e voucher for the Lowest Carbon, Highest Yield Grow from DP !!..........if its "Green" it's got to be good !!......Low carbon GPKw ratio is easily computed from records to.
Qs; For Seymour.....what is your g/Kw yield on the last grow (ABB) last grow Seymour ??....i recon your consumption is under 500w/hr, as you only use 2 led's and halia and carbon fan, low wattage advantage, so your g/Kw hr will be around 0.71g/Kw which is very good,.......would dearly love to know how efficient with energy your grow with Autoblueberry g/Kw was SB ?/...........Autoberry...............
Hey Seymore,
Just finished reading your diaries since pineapple express! lol
Originally I read the think different one,
then saw the mazar mentioned so went back to that one… and then all the rest… lots of good info and tips in them aswell.
I have experience in soil, and NFT but i have been slowly drawn towards DWC for sometime now….
I have amassed some questions for you along the way, some may not be so relevant any more. hope you don't mind… lol
- you say you have no extraction, what was your filter attached to?
- would it not be simpler to early veg all of the plants in one container (like a rubbermaid), in order to waste less nutrients/additives every time you do a change.
- why were there 2 airlines going into one of the buckets?
- when and why did you use your specific flowering and pk boosters?
- i have been looking at your diffusers, i know what brand they are, i have been looking through the site… How come they have so many different types of air diffuser and which ones do you use and why..
- can you give me a definitive reason why you have never suffered root rot problems? lol
- do you process your tap water in any way before you use it? i.e to remove chlorine...
- is genesis just a base or does it have other things thrown in asswell ?
- if you top up with plain water then how does the ec remain stable/constant?
Also, why no ScrOG? imagine a perfect layer of big juicy vertical top buds, all evenly spaced under the light….. no more broken plants… no more height issues….. better use of space…
i think with some minor Topping/Fimming and the help of a 50mm X 50mm net you could vastly improve your yield whilst not having to worry about plant size/ weight too much anymore.
And as for working out the efficiency of a specific grow.
I think grams per Watt is a suitable unit to use, if it's worked out correctly. (if you already know all of this then I'm sorry
Watt = joule/second or one joule of energy used per second
joule = unit of energy
so g/W is the total grams produced, per joule, per second, which i think is a good way to work out the efficiency of a growing system/setup.
Simply dividing your total yield by the power rating of your lights is obviously flawed, as people use different schedules, photo's or auto's and different veg times etc…
plus all the other active things that draw power.
the simplest solution is….
if you put a power meter on the system and total up all of the energy used (in kilowatt hours) in an indoor grow room you can work out the total cost of your grow.
However this isn't really a measure of the efficiency of a particular strain, system, additive, or light schedule, its just a measure of how much money you paid for that amount of weed.
If you divide the total energy used (kilowatt hours) by the total duration of the grow (hours), then you will get your average power consumption for the grow in kilowatts.
multiply this by 1000 we have the average power consumption in watts for a specific grow from seed to weed.
divide your yield by this and you have your efficiency at turning energy into buds.
you could then take it further and divide this figure by the volume of your grow room
so for absolute grow room efficiency measurements.
Gram Per watt per meter cubed
g/W/m³
if you can measure your total power consumption i could have a go at working some of it out.
( if your setup and timings are fairly simple then you can get a close idea using the stated power ratings and the ratio of their respective on off times.)
Sorry for such a long first post…. the only reason i joined the forum was to post this after reading all those diaries!! ha
