I have a question on drying here.Today being the cobras 3rd day drying she's hit 54 grams and the smell has depleted to more of a grass/hay smell. I hung them in the growcloset in the space above the T5's where they wouldn't get direct light.The temps stay consitent 72-74f and humidity is 50-55%.I have a fan circulating air in the bottom on the pineapples that are finishing up.They look pretty dry now,i was thinking 5-6 days but i don't know now.Did i screw this up or is it normal to lose that kind of weight in 3 days(196 gr. wet-54 grams in 3 days)?

I am no expert(you know this). But I have heard that it is generally about 1/4 the weight of what it was freshly cut and wet. Which is about right for you.

I figured it would shrink in weight to about what i got now but i'm only 3 days into drying,i was thinking 5-6 days according to the harvest/cure thread.I'm more worried the smell has disappeared and wondering if i should let it go the extra 2-3 days and risk overdrying?

Let it go bro! My guess would be 35-40 grams total with that wet weight. With humidity that high it should take 5-7 days minimum.

Also fullauto the odor will very rarely stay the same as when its growing and will either have very little odor or smell strongly of cut grass while its drying.

Good to know Dub! My sniffer is shot to hell from years of smelling stonedust(ima stonemason),once i get my nose right into it it does have a little more pungeant smell. I tried snappin a branch and it folded over instead of breakin so i gota ways to go yet. Nervous Noot here,would be royally po'ed if i screwed up after all shes been thru!

You're good. The leaves and outer buds dry out kind of fast compared to the inner buds and the stem. Another couple of days and the stems should snap. Then it's time to jar them. Once they are in the jars the smell will turn sort of sour for awhile, then as it cures more the smell of the bud will dominate.
