New Grower A 4 strain grow. Second try.

Thanks, I'm assuming 2 weeks since they are at day 60 the average was 65-70 but I think since she had a rough childhood she might take longer. I'll keep a closer eye on her since only one is showing this problem.

Now. Please take this with a a grain of salt. I'm a complete newbie myself and this is controversial...

I trim all fan leaves as soon as they start to show any yellowing. I trim them a lot earlier if they shade a decent bud site. I like to see light penetrate beyond the canopy to the floor. I'm using a viparspectra 600 along with some supplemental LED grow lights (flood types). I've also built a custom grow cabinet that I've been tweaking. It uses a viparspectra 300 and it's having some issues.

I totally get the urge to upgrade and I'm making plans for a major upgrade to my grow space. I started humble with the intent to grow very small amounts. Now I've been bitten by the bug. I love gardening but the stuff we do here is super-gardening. This is now my [HASHTAG]#1[/HASHTAG] hobby, just eking out the actual consumption of the end product. :smoking:

I've not tried a scrog yet - just merciless LST.

I'm nearing the end of my second grow and the third grow just popped in solo cups (still waiting on the last bean to pop). The downside is, my first harvest provided some potent frosty goodness and I get too stoned in the evening to maintain my grow logs. Gotta do something about that.


Anyway, I've usurped your thread long enough.Really just wanted to say that it's great to see another newbie doing so well and I can't wait to see your harvest yields.

I did do some trimming, especially leaves in the shade or shading buds. But as little as possible.
LST is what I love, and they do too. I started using a Scrog as a supplement to the LST I though it would be easier later on as my access to the plants is limited right now. ( not for long)
One thing is for sure it's definitely my n1 hobby.
Having the AFN community is also a big plus, as it doesn't feel like I'm growing alone all by myself.

Hey HeadBudz, that looks to me like you had a little issue with magnesium, Probably cal/mag issue, but like i said it looks like its under control now.

Budz, I wanted mention to ya, since we both doing same strain.. but different Nutrient line.... I did start have issue with cal/mag around day 12-13 it really started showing, I been using 5ml/gal even in regular waterings and it has helped alot. just an FYI, since your around that day....she does look great though

Thanks for dropping by and I had the same thought. Next watering she gets some Cal Mag.
Thanks for the advice, my issue with the cal. Mag I have is its got 4-0-0 so that's a lot of N for her last 2 weeks.
I'm going to try and find a Cal Mag 0-0-0

Is it worth using the Led in full spectrum or should I keep using the veg mode only. I know Led is PAR and not lumens... but it just seems like it's not bright enough in there.?

Ok so i found out that the seedlings went for 2 days (I was out)
With the lights 4/20 instead of 20/4. My brother set it up the other way around ( he's a stoner and it works the opposite than the timer on the flower tent) should have gotten the digital one I bet he would not mess the complicated one up!
Anyway he confessed.... so I'm guessing they basically lost 2 days of light from day 5 to day 8.
I was not the one to mess up but it makes me feel no better.
Btw both tents have 20h of music daily.
I try to go through bands. And I have to say the discography of Pink Floyd, the Doors, and Jimmy Hendrix have so far been very well received.....

Hey, don't sweat it, the exact same thing happened to me, but I not have anyone but me to blame...i have like 6 timers & pins in/out different...it certainly didnt slow mine down, yours will do fine... your a very good grower.

Not sure [emoji848] time will tell, I'm fucking dedicated for sure!
So yeah there should be a standard on them pins either in is on or not but why make it so us stoners have to think 2, 3, hell 4 times so pins in...... time on.... or.... pins out.... fuck I'm going digital
