Dutch Passion 800w LED Solarflare Dutch Passion Think Different grow and more!

Gorgious OGs rhapsody!
I love my SolarFlares, got 4 daisychained essentially making a SolarStorm lol
Best LED panels period.
Blessings.

Wow 4. Must be a sick grow you got. Yes its essentially a solarstorm but a little more verstile...you can space out the lights some more for better coverage.

Hey RR, could they go longer? 2.5 just seems so short for a photo, and I know that alot of bulking happens in the last couple of weeks. Not trying to criticize, just curious:D

Those things look amazing!

Well 2 are showing there Sativa side that shorter one is showing its Indica side. Its been alive the same amount of time as the others. Theres no way it can get any taller as its in the end stages of flowering. Dont let looks decieve you its 32-34 inches. I veged to 8 inches so its 4x taller then it was in Veg.

Thats why this particular grow was interesting. Seeds are like having kids. No two kids are the same. Some take say to looking like mom and some take to looking like Dad. OG Kush 18 is a hybrid strain. So in this grow I got to see both sides the more Sativa look and one with a more Indica look. Even the leaves on the more indica looking one are bushier.

To answer your question I could probably take them another week past this Sunday but I will not be. They will be over 8 weeks old on Sunday.

Have you water cured before? I am curious because I have read about water curing but it doesn't seem to be widely used.

Your plants are beautiful by the way.

I have its ultra easy. Get a container...a baking dish works even. Put your bud in it...you dont really have to trim all the tiny bud leaves. Fill the dish up with water. Buds float so you have to put something like a dish on it to weigh them down. Everyday change the water out for 5-7 days. Make sure there is no cover over the container as well as Chlorophyll evaporates. Everyday you go to change the water you will see it slightly Amber looking and it will smell some.

Some go to 5 some go to 7 days on this. Both have worked for me. After the end of that period Drain and dry how you would. If you air dry make sure its in a well ventilated area because the bud will be sopping wet.

Some including myself use a food dehydrator. I use the lowest setting which is 90 degrees and takes about 4-5 hours of that. Then I jar it. The cool thing is after 5 days of being in the water or 7 if you prefer you bud is 100% ready to smoke.

The Cons of water curing are no bag appeal. Your bud will be poo colored. It wont be green. It will be a darkish brown. There will no more smell to it either. When you smoke it it will be a very smooth, earthy smoke. Whatever flavor that your weed might have is removed.

To me I dont care about bag appeal, nor the flavor to much. All my bud has a date with my grinder and who cares what it looks like in that regard. Then I never really have picked up on the taste of weed as Im a smoker.
Whats cool about it is its easily done. If your scared to do the whole plant just do a handfull of bud or a cola using this method. You wont be disappointed.

So I did my harvest today on my photoperiod plants that are my other grow (Reserva Privada OG Kush #18). I let my girls sit in total darkness for about 30 hours. No idea if that made a difference but tried it anyhow.

Ive tried all sorts of drying methods in the past...whole plant upside down, individual stems, and cutting all the bud off an drying on a rack. Never noticed a difference and drying on a rack is easiest for myself so thats what I am doing. I also threw a bunch of bud in a dish for some water curing.

Thats my stock pile of freshly cut buds. 10.1 ounces exact. That comes out to 3.36 ounces per plant. In reality the 2 larger ones produced about the same and alot more then the smaller one. The smaller one had alot of popcorn buds.

All in all very pleased as OG Kush 18 is not known to be a high yielder and for the most part on the low end. Its known for its potency. Its why it goes for so much on the street.

Also weighed in 4 ounces of trim that got a nice alcohol wash.

For the water cure. You take your buds put them in a dish or container. Fill with water. You want alot more water then bud. You change the water every day for 5-7 days. There is varying opinion on 5 or 7 days but nearly all agree 7 days max. When you hit your desired time you drain and dry how you normally would or a dehydrator on the lowest setting. Mine goes to 80 degrees. After that short amount of time your bud is "cured" and ready to smoke.

The cons of doing that is your bud will dry poo colored and not have bag appeal which I do not care about as it all goes into my grinder. I dont sell nor provide for a dispensary..but alot of dispensaries from what I read are starting to sell bud this way being its completely free of nutes and Chlorophyll. For the picture I removed what I have on top of the bud to weigh them down..buds float. Im using a small square grill thing and have it on top.

Beautiful grow start to finish!!! I think TD is a consistent 1/4 pound plant when given half a chance. TD potency is killer too. I've heard people say it's not very potent which doesn't jive at all with my experience. I think the people that don't get the buzz they are looking for either don't let it go long enough or are not using enough light for it to reach its full potential. I'm interested to hear your smoke report and take on that.
Peace

I might try this with a small amount of my next harvest. I like that it's quick and has a low smell after being cured. Also, never thought of using a food dehydrator. Thanks for the tips.

Well I am air curing more then half of it the other 1/4 Im water curing.

You will have flavor but its just super smooth. If it say was lemon it will be removed by that process.

Dehydrator works well for water cured bud but on its lowest setting. 80 degrees wont harm it at all. The bottom line with curing is your trying to remove Chlorophyll which is why the rule of thumb of jar curing is 1 month. Air evaporation of Chlorophyll happens very very slowly but all of the flavor is preserved and so is the smell.

Water curing through osmosis pushes everything out of the bud except THC since THC is not water soluble. The Chlorophyll hits the water and does not fully evaporate thats one of the reasons why you change it everyday. Changed it this morning and the water was all amber colored.

Pros/Cons to everything.

I agree man the TD I grew was some lovely smoke when done, if smoking with company it was guaranteed to start off VERY giggly before reaching a strong couchlock. That was with perhaps 20% amber. Lovely bud and ive finally started off a new one so looking forward to a fresh batch :D

Friends here are some pics of my dried out air dried bud. I roughly 1 oz per jar. Very pleased. My stuff dried fast as I have the AC on and theres not alot of moisture in the air. I usually throw them in after 2-3 days and let time do the rest. This bud has more crystals on it then anything Ive grown so far. Buds not hyper big but not small either. OG's known for dense potent nuggests not yield or lord humongeous bud.

Over all pleased as the other half is in a dish soaking in water. It will be ready on Saturday...I will post pics then. I suspect 1.5 ounces out of that.

So 3.5 ounces out of a grow that I virtually did nothing but feed pretty stoked. Plus I am out and now I am not :)
