New Grower 65 days Bud tastes awfull HELP

Hello AFN

Well at day 65 from seed I cut from my plant one of the lower bud just to taste it. Well after I dried it up a rolled a joint and it tastes like SHIT not only that no HIGH not STONE at ALL what the F..K Am I growing Lettuce ? I know it was not mature and I did not flush etc but it was smelling wonderful and it was full of resin!!! After I cut it it started smelling chlorophyll, the weed smell was gone. Can anyone confirm to me that I am a JERK anb what I did was really wrong or otherwise that Iam growing in Vain help ragonSmoke:

It needs to cure in a jar for a couple weeks at least after you dry it to 65% RH, or it will taste like shit, but the bigger buds should get you high what strain is it ?

Not wrong to sample a bud to 65 days but taste and potency are not quite there yet the jar will return the nice smell and flavor

I bet you just had some precursor cannabinoids in that bud you just smoked. That is to say, the tricomes of that one was clear and not cloudy. Did you examine the tricomes before cutting?

Things that affect to the "shit" -taste of your bud was;

- Immaturity of the bud
- No flushing (that is; all kinds of fertilizers still in the plant matter)
- No curing (proper curing is must for a smooth and nice taste)
- Lower buds usually always taste inferior specially if they are underdeveloped

Yeah, do not feel bad. I think we all need to experience just that at some point anyway, been there, done that also.

thanks mate well it was immature but do I have always to cure ? The issue was not the taste but there s no High ??? I gues 3 days of drying were not enough or what?anyway there s been a few days I did that and plants keep fattening and new pistills so I guess it was to soon, yet when I wa touching it my fingers glue because of the resin so where did that THC go?

No mate my micro scope is yet to arrive only the colore of pistils I check unfortunately

I've tried to sample popcorn buds after a quick dry and they never really deliver at all... Don't know why.

There is not much potency in the lower buds as they are usually behind the upper buds that get all the light, I am sure your main tops are potent if dried proper,Also if still damp when smoked wont have the potency either.

I would think that the THC never was there to it's true potential in that bud. It mostly had the precursor cannabinoids that were going to be converting to THC through the biosynthesis of those earlier forms of cannabinoids. Really hard to explain this well enough without proper charts and wearing a lab coat.

Looking really good! That looks quite nice and maturing so I would wait for the microscope and make a call based on that. You look for about 5% for up to 50% amber coloured tricomes. More amber, more bodystone and heavy buzz. Less amber, more uplifting high. I generally prefer to take down the plant pretty soon after I spot any amber.

Proper time to harvest your plant would be right before the light comes on in morning. Plants do leave much of their nutrition to the root system overnight and starts to pump them back up right after the lights turn on. Best to go there first thing and cut the main stem as soon as you go in. That is how I do it anyway. Some here seem to like to take their time with pruning theirs for pictures and all.
