Hi everyone. I am looking for a little bit of guidance with my light and new babies.

If it is needed info I am growing in Smart Pots, Biobizz Light Mix with 25% added perlite and plan to roughly follow TaNgs Easy Auto Feed.

I germinated my seeds in paper towel and they germinated in 36 hours. They went into my soil from there and I now another 36 hours have 3 out of 6 sprouts showing already. One is even developing a set of leaves already! They are still under soda bottle humidity domes.

My concern is the intensity of my light. I have a 600 watt switchable and dimmable HID in an air cooled hood. Right now I have the metal halide bulb in and the ballast dimmed to 75% power to maintain the tent at the right temperature (between 73* and 83*

Will this light hurt my seedlings? Right now it is about 18 to 24 inches above the pots. Roughly how far away should it be to prevent harm and stretching?

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Sounds like too much light to me if you are running at 75% because its covienent for the temps I'd double the height for a week. Why are you worried about stretching already what stains are you running?

@MANNIK if you can dimit further the do so.
I have a 600w dimmable i start off at 250w and even then i would keep the light at least 2ft away for the first few days/week.

I also have a non dimmable 600w that i use for seedlings but keep it about 3-3.5 ft high for the first week

I am running Triangle Kush and Toof Decay by Mephisto. I am not worried about stretching as much as burning my babies up. I also do not want them to get get stunted by cold temperature. It is a chilly winter here so far.

I think that I will take the domes off the ones that have broke ground and lost their helmets. Dim my light to 50% at about 2 feet above and see what happens to my temps. I am going to close my door in that bedroom to see if the light will heat up the room a bit.

Just me but I leave my domes on till my leaves are about an inch long. I have a couple toof decays going and I will try to get a lttle more stretch next time.
