I did it with the hopes of controlling the water I'm hoping it will do good we will see it's much easier for me in the cups rather those pots look so big and they are so small I had problems with over watering at the start on last run so far so good.Im hoping like you said faster dry out maybe faster growth watering whole pot on first grow it was like 9 days before I could water again.I love coming here the people have been very nice and so helpful with everything these folks got class I don't go to other sites when I started searching for a home I found out quick I don't know why but there's a lot of folks real disrespectfull to each other on most of them forum's out there..I don't understand why they can't be like on here but thank goodness we have afn.

Yes 100% agree everyone on here is like family. I have never had a message go answered, or a concern go over looked. People on here really care about each other. Auto flower community is very kind and supportive.
The over watering in the big pots is easy to do. When I first start out I use maybe a 1/2-1 cup and just water around the root cube. I do this for a week or so slowly moving the watering to the sides of the pot in a bigger circle pattern and adding more water. I use an old water bottle and poke holes in the lid. It allows you to delicately and evenly water while not creating any air pockets.

Mine aren't the biggest by Amy means but they are of top quality. Very proud of these. The yields will come with experience.

Day 54. Fed with calmag and avalanche for the 3rd time.
Calmag 8-10 drops per gal
Avalanche 3 ml per gal
Paying attention to the plants and not just what day it is on the calender I got another day between feeding. The last few times it's been every other day but it's been rainy here and a lot cooler so humidity was up a few % causing them to hold enough water for an extra day. Thanks for the tip @Ripper. Still waiting to but them on @Ronin s super model diet (coffee and cigs ). Haha good day all. Oh and the pics of the plant alone is the WC. Good job bro you are doing awsome and for your first grow shows that you have what it takes to nurture some beautiful ladies lol. But good growing brow they look super healthy you for sure will have some fire bud to smoke. Happy growing.
