hello everyone!

just hoping to get some input regarding the set up.

finally back on this side of the forum after 2 yrs (currenty on 8th grow).. and looking for a final upgrade!

currently running:
- 2x2x55” with ac infinity s4 (4” filter and fan) + 2 autocobs
- 2x4x60” with ac infinity t4 (4” filter and fan) + 3 autocobs
( i believe cobs are 65watts each) total = 325 watts total

—————

what i want to do is upgrade to a 4x4 but i got a couple questions:

i read that 106cfm is whats needed in a 4x4 for an air exchange.. but thats not counting the filter/the exhaust bends etc.

so...

1) can i run both 4” filter @ 50-75% power at the same time to exhaust a 4x4?
(both filters/fan are recent upgrades on their 2nd grow)(about 6 months old)
*will definitely upgrade to 6” once replacement is needed*

2) is 325 watts of autocobs enough for a 4x4?

3) would it be possible to run a perpetual of 6 plants?
(plan would be 2 plants every month! maybe more of smaller yielders)

OR

what seems to be a perfect set up with what i already have:

1) 3x3 with 4” fan / filter combo
(this would leave me with an extra 4” fan / filter combo replacement when needed)

2) 5 autocobs seems perfect in a 3x3 wit light coverage!

3) harder to run 6 perpetual.. maximizing 4 plants?

would love to support the afn vendors when i can.. so im thinking of picking up a marshydro tent hoping for a sale.

@Marshydro will there a 420 mars hydro tent sale? or when does grow tent go on sale?

well.. thats that! would love to hear some inputs for the pros.

I think you'll find the fan filter a tad too small for a 4x4, same for the light, but your closer... about 2 autocobs shy. I run 450w (9 @ 50w) of DIY cobs in a 4x4. Perfect for autos, a little light for photos.

Get the 4x4 and add a couple when you can. Difference between a 3x3 and a 4x4 is almost 2x the sqft. 9 as apposed to 16.

@thedailydose I think all of your proposed scenarios would work. I don't like doing perpetual because it makes it hard to clean and more opportunity for pest propagation.

I clean and sanitize between every grow.

I think it is better to overbuild your exhaust system. A six inch running at 60% is much quieter than a 4 inch running at max.

I think 5 autocobs in a 3x3 is perfect, but I think your going to come up a bit short in the 4x4. In my 3x3 I was running 3 autocobs and 1 mars cob. It just didn't get the coverage needed, so I had to add that 5th light still in a 3x3 space. My guess is you will need at least 2 more cobs minimum in that 4x4.
