Okay coco folks I'm jumping in to coco. I need your input. I have a 4x4x8 air pot in the table filled with coco.
Plan on flooding the table once maybe twice a day from the bottom just like ebb n flow. What you all think?
The beans are going to be 5 dinafem critical 2.0 with t5 lighting.

Gotta watch out for particles clogging your pump:thumbs:

For sure, however...that's why i have a air pot in the table. To keep things from getting through to the rez.

Your Rez still will be dirty :(. Best to buy a filter that fits on your drain.
I want to set up a new DR60 with Cocopots too. But I'm using Rootpouches ( High density ) or Smartpots.
Same positive effects, but should stay a lot cleaner.

As for watering/flooding frequency, you want as many short watering cycles as possible for best results. That means that your medium should dry out in a reasonable amount of time. I'd generally run coco in smaller pots than you would use for soil.

Thank you mario. I meant smart pot not air pots. I flooded the table from the bottom and let run its 15 min still had plent of moisture 6hrs later. We'll see at 24hrs. Thanks again

I wanted to do something like this but decided to go a different route. I believe it can work it may just take a lot of finesse. Also I have used the smaller industrial pond pumps for my hydro and aero runs and they do really well about not getting clogged. They are designed to take a little bit of gunk. Good Luck! :peace:

DTW is the preferred method of coco growing for many, or recirc through a filtration system. Otherwise, I'd run nutes every hour during peak flowering, coco can take some serious watering because it's a hydro medium and doesn't need to dry out like ProMix or Soil.

Thanks mallo and low an slow for chimming in. On my test run in took two days for the coco to NOT be saturated with water. I'll hand water for the first bit as the girls start out. I'm sure they'll be able to handle the moisture soaked coco later on. More concerned with root issuez and over watering.

I only let my plants dry cycle in coco until the third node, then I water daily till runoff. Full nutes at budset...then it gets fun!

Im.with ya low
When u feed they ear it dry faster sometimes 3 hours 4 hoyrs on negative feeds o
On water plain feeds they dry a little.bit linger andon amino feeds.they lagg but jump.fast
Then feeding all.day atpeak.sothey can leep.charges flowing is fun.
