4ft by 2ft, 5ft high. I'm trying to decide between t5/cfl or led/cfl .

Have these options in mind,
147w UFO led, 2012 high power w 3w diodes.- $130 shipped
T5ho 4ft 6 bulb lamp, 54x6 so 324 watts.- $125 shipped

Whatever I choose will be supplemented with 2700k and 6500k cfls.

Any opinions suggestions comments etc on which would be better full term for growing autos in my space. Thanks

I would suggest either of these two options:

One 8 bulb Quantum Bad Boy with the Quantum bulbs
Two Blackstar 240 watt LEDs

While more expensive that what you've outlined, neither options would require any supplemental light. UFO, being round, don't cover as well in square areas as a square LED. Whatever you choose, shoot for at least 50 watts per square foot, so 400 total watts minimum.

Thanks, but I want to keep the price around 150. Maybe later down the road.

So are the 4ft 6 lamp t5s on eBay any good? I think it was hydro farm. I really like the t5s because they will cover my whole area, and I can use them full term. The one I was lookin at puts out 324 watts, then with my two 26w 6500k cfls I should be around 400 watts total. This gtg for say 6 three gallon pots? Thanks again, any advice is appreciated

It's the bulbs that set the Quantums apart from the others. IMO, well worth the extra money. 8 bulb Bad Boy, $190, 8 bulbs, $55. http://www.plantlightinghydroponics.com/. Increased yield will more than make up for the price difference.

Six plants in 3 gallon pots might be a little tight in there. 4-5 would be better. Maybe 3 on one side and 2 on the other so they are staggered. Depending on the strain they can stick out quite a bit beyond the diameter of the pot and two 3 gallon pots side by side would probably grow into each other.

Id get the 8 bulb bad boy. It will vent better letting heat out the top.i'm currently using it with plant max bulbs there cheaper. Id go with 5 plants in 5 gallon smart pots. Trust me it'll be worth the extra money for the 8 bulb and you'll have plenty of light coverage. With that set up you will get good yields.

Id love to get the badboy, but $245 is just more than I can spend right now. Any $150 or less t5 kits that will cover my space and veg/flower 4-6 plants with a decent yield ? I'm hoping for 1oz or more from each..

The ones on eBay should give you those results but like everyone said they just dont do as well as the bad boys cuz of the vented design with badboy let's you get the light allot closer to the canopy and their bulbs and ballast Are far superior so you get even more penetration which was my concern when shopping for t5s

So I can easily achieve 1-2 oz per plant with a hydrofarm 4ft 6 lamp unit?

4 grow 6500k, 2 bloom 2700k up top ..54x6
2 26w spiral cfls, 6500k. 1 each side..26x2
2 14w spiral cfls, 2700k. Under sude.14x2

That's 402 watts. What you think

Yes it's possible but there's gonna be allot of other factors when it comes to yield with these autoflowers what kind of soil , nutes , exhaust , a decent ph meter etc

Muddy,

Are you strictly growing under LED or do you mix in a little CFL too?
