Dutch Passion Bundle of Fun!
Hello to whomever, here's the beginning of my second grow ever! I figure I would log this as I'd like to do so for personal reasons, might as well spread the love and receive some feedback from this fantastic forum at the same time! As the title reads I've got one Blueberry, one Think Different and one Mazar, all hangin' out under these conditions;

Tent: Secret Jardin DR90 (90x90x180)

Soil: Lambert All Purpose Potting Mix (pH balanced, humic acids, perlite) mixed with an additional solid amount of perlite which I then added a VERY light and un-precise amount of; Blood & Bone meal, epsom salt, baby cereal and crushed eggshells (trying to mimic in a dilute form FD's soil additives).

*worth noting- instead of using the tiered method I just scooped about 3 cups of the slightly nutrient soil mix out where the seeds were to be placed, and replaced with 3 cups of nothing added Lambert soil and perlite mix so that seed and seedling start in a non-nutrient soil... kinda awkward to explain but simple concept.

Lighting:

Veg:
- DIY light board: eight 23W 6500K CFL Bulbs surrounding one 50 W "full spectrum" Plasma light from Hydroponics Hut.

-one 90W (flower) UFO from Hydroponics Hut

Flower:
- one 200W 2700K Sun Blaster CFL

- contemplating either adding another 200W CFL or just using the current one I have in combination with my veg lights. My contradicting thoughts to that are; I'm not sure how evenly I would be able to distribute light (which isn't really an issue, I just want a "clean" setup) as the 200W CFL would be hanging without a reflector in the middle of my plants (which is what I did last time) and the remaining UFO and DIY light board would have to angle from the top... SO it's either a mash-up of what I've got OR get another 200W CFL and get 2 reflectors so they can hang nice and evenly alongside one another (not that the plants care too much)

Any input on flower lighting would be greatly appreciated!

Nutrients: Optimum Hydroponix; Grow A (5-0-2) & B (1-5-8), Supermax B1 (Sea-weed based, 1-2-1). Then to kick off flowering; Bud Ignitor (0-1-2) by Advanced Nutrients.

As I am still getting a feel for how these creatures react to nutrients, I will be erring on the side of a light (1/8 dose, then progress) feed, especially since i want to see how effective the amended water technique will be, which brings me to...

Water: Unfortunately the only abundant source of water I have is city water (pH approx. 8.5), so I fill up my 50L rubber maid and oxygenate using an 8 inch air stone with a Marina 100 air pump.

Before feedings I add nutrients (if any), correct my H2O from pH 7.9 (after oxygenating for a day it drops to 7.9ish) to pH 6.5 then water to the point of at least 1.5 cups or so of run-off.

Temperature & RH: temperature is hangin' out between 78-84, and RH is around 40-55%, which is pretty much the best I can get it right now with a substantial humidifier in there. Will drop humidity in final week-ish (supposing I haven't started vegging some other ladies).

Exhaust Fan & Filter: 4 inch 160 cfm inline fan & carbon filter combo + speed adjuster (I run it between 35-50% strength), bought it off ebay for around $100, no name brand and she works great!

Any input on replacement time/methods for my carbon filter would be appreciated

MUSIC! As there is tons of information and many varying opinions as to what is the "best sound" for plants, I've decided I will dabble in this supplemental kinetic sound energy business. Since there is no way of me being precise in any sort of "sound readings", and I want to maximize yield - not experiment... yet... - I'm going to add a slight personal touch by playing a device full of my favorite positive/mellow tracks continuously at volume loud enough to block out most fan noise without being too loud.

So it begins! Day 4!

So at this point TD and Mazar are going at the same rate (day 4), however BB was half a day behind then had a clingy shell which was removed with tweezers, OH YA! I got some free Nepali Hybrid mix beans by Beanhoarder from Hemp Depot when I order my DP seeds, so I've got 2 of those hopefully gals in the small pots for fun... For the first 5 days I've been misting the soil as opposed to full waterings.

I just realized how much I've wrote, so whether or not you care to peer in to the details above, I appreciate any constructive feedback/advice, also I'm a karma kinda guy too so that stuff is nice as well! Thanks guys I will keep the updates coming!

Looks good bro..Best of luck..

Hey man, looks nice a good setup you got! Should be able to produce some nice bud with that :)

Day 7!

So yesterday I gave the Dutch Passion babies their first full pot watering at pH 6.4 (trying to get the soil pH down a little) as opposed to mistings. All looks well (I think), I suppose something outstanding would be apparent, but so far they look healthy:check:

That's that! Those Nepalese Hybrids have definitely decided they want a crack at life, I'm thinkin' I'll find them a nice outdoorsy environment once they're of age, or I could experiment with them in-tent... any suggestions welcome...

ALSO worth noting, I've been rotating the DP's clockwise everyday so they're receiving even lighting. :peace:

I've been super busy better there are some photos arriving shortly, I can assure you they are all happy, healthy and on track:head:

All the best to you CC on this 2nd grow. Gonna be a great harvest in the end and lots of variety in the smoke too. Hope you do well.
