Fast Buds 2nd grow: Rhino Ryder and LSD-25

@tripaholic88 no prob man, I appreciate any and all advice. I know she'll be fine, she is resilient and I am not giving any more grow nutes or fish fert and I'm going to cut back on my calmag as well. Today I did a mini flush just to get out any inorganic nitrogen. It wasn't extreme though because I figured most of it wouldn't flush. I ran 2 gallons of tap water and molasses through a 3 gal pot I prob had a liter of runoff. Let's see what happens!

@Fuggzy do damaged leaves ever recover? I have read that N toxicity leaves will eventually die and never recover, but what about spotted leaves from calcium deficiency? I'm not getting any new foliar growth so how do I know when I'm doing the right thing?

It's funny that I have a calcium deficiency worse this round because last time I didn't have calmag in the regimen until probably week 6. Last round I used straight roots organic amended with dolomite. This time I'm in happy frog with EWC and perlite at about 25% and having more trouble than last time. I know I have multiple problems with technique and if I were a better grower I could do great in this happy frog, but I won't be using it again. I'll technically be using it in my photos I have going right now, but that was the last of it and I'm switching to maybe coco, just to see. I even looked at DIY DWC.

I could cut down Riley right now at day 37ish i believe and catch a buzz, she's so frosty and 12" tall. Nina is still a runt but she'll have a kickass main cola, 9" tall. Maya is a little bush is having the most trouble dealing with my rookie mistakes.

I am torturing my LSD haha. Last grow I didn't really encounter any problems besides insects which was cured in a few days. I hardly fed at all so I didn't see many nutrient problems. This time I fed heavily to try to push them and it was too much. Keep It Simple Stoner, fuck my life. Through the rain and the pain my LSD is an animal. Purple as the mother fucker, structure just incredible like a god damned chandelier. Emily is 20.5" tall. A more skilled hand could probably get over 2 oz. off of this LSD, so many bud sites.

Anyway I'm high as fuck just rambling. I'm not too stressed these @FastBuds sure can take a beating.

I love this song, and band. When Randy, the lead singer proposed to his wife, it was on stage. After she said yes, he dedicated this song to his soon to be bride. (nothing to do with the post. I just happened to be watching it while typing, a figured I'd share some music)

Sadly bud the damaged leaves will not recover. The only way to know a Ca def has stopped is if the damage stops. Normally you would just watch the new growth, now you just need to watch the current damage. The Ca def leaves won't just die off, so watch their spot patterns, and look for differences.

I have read a lot of stuff about FF soils being unstable. OR hot, or w/e term you choose. The problems you are having might just not be your fault to be honest. If you want to continue with bagged soil, I would stick with roots. I have not used them, but it seems to have the highest amount of happy growers.

Now coco is something you may want to look into. I added it to my mix recently, and that shit is amazing. Just the feel of it in my hand told me "Good things will come", lol. I went with the Bontanicare 5kg brick, and what I would suggest for you also. )the coco guy here recommended it to me) It is pre buffered, and charged with Ca already. You would need to read up in it, as it takes a bit different style to use, but the guys that use, mostly claim to never use anything else again. I think the only main difference is the pH levels and what to Ph your feeds to. Oh, and if you do get the botanicare, try to find it at a local hydro shop. I got it for almost 1/2 what amazon had it for. I'll also be getting more soon. I plan on phasing out the peat mix, and going full coco for my super soils.

Making your own soil would be my biggest suggestion. I don't think there is a more rewarding feeling. It can be as easy or complex as you want. If you are interested, I can share a bunch of mixes with you... Like my mix. :eyebrows: It's not been through an entire grow yet, but all I am using is water, molasses, and tm7 so far. (tm-7 is humic acid, fulvic acid, and micro nutes) I'm not pH'ing shit either, just dechlorinated water, thats all. In my not so humble opinion super soils are the way to go.

These are the current plants. If you look really close, you'l see damages, but that was from the outdoor trip, not from the soil. Fucking critters, and stoners! (2 fell of the hay bail cause I wasn't paying attention)

Remember the batch of males I just had? I did do shit for them after flower. Just a bit of water, and w/e rain they got. Each one came down looking just as pretty as can be.

So not trying to push you to do it my way but... When I think of SS mixes, and close my eyes, this is what I see...

Like I said though, my opinion is not humble, lol. Get the coco, ditch the FF.

@Fuggzy I really like the idea of soil. I'm sure hydro and coco growers would think I'm lazy but I just really hate adjusting pH. I have the general hydroponic kit and man it's annoying to get a sample, add testing solution, shake, wrong color, adjust, doesn't change, redo, etc. I'd rather just have some bomb soil and just use water! I'm not saying I won't do coco next grow. In fact I probably will, but I'm not going to like the attention to pH.

I'd love some record @Fuggzy those males really do look awesome!

If my LSD powers through this N tox, she's going to be quite the specimen. S my Buddha bloom is .25-3-1.5 (something like that I know the N-P values are correct) do you think I can feed the lsd bloom nutes only? Is the amount of nitrogen in that bloom ratio enough to push my plants further into N tox?

Also has anyone used growth science nute? I'm strongly considering using them.

@Fuggzy @tripaholic88 well it's official just ordered some coco coir! Today has been stupid slow at work and I'm the only person here so I spent my first few hours researching coco and then eventually bought some haha! $10 for 11 pounds, I'll take it. Also got a 50L bag of coarse perlite coming for $20. I've been buying 8 dry quarts at a time, so it'll be nice to have an abundance of perlite. @Fuggzy I looked into the rice hulls which from what I've read are far superior to perlite and any other substitute, but the perlite was readily available on amazon for a great price. I'm not sure where I could find rice hulls in town. Anyway looks like it's coco and perlite next auto round!

Do you all think I will need a pH pen or will my GH liquid tester be sufficient for testing pH? I was thinking it won't be too bad dealing with pH if I log how my nutrients effect the pH and how much pH up or down I use to adjust it, I should have a basic formula that allows me to adjust without too much rechecking.

I'll prob post some picture updates on Monday (day 40), which is also when my photo updates will come.

@Herbisaur if you have the money get Advanced Nutrients Sensi COCO Grow A&B PH perfect... im using their reg Sensi Grow A&B PH Perfect and it is ALWAYS in PH range! i DO have a PH meter and TDS meter because there cheap and why the hell not right? i got both of them together from ebay for like $12 But back to the nutes... the sensi i got works so well that i got the Sensi COCO Grow A&B i think for like $30 and they are both 1L sizes i believe i will purchase their sensi coco Bloom A&B when the time comes... so in theory and in my experience the PH PERFECT WORKS as advertised.. now the PPM of my tap water is about 65 and they recommend that it will still work at up to 100 ppm and lower.

o and ive been using the 1 L for my whole grow and barely touched any out the bottle and im feeding at 5ml/l! so them bottles WILL LAST!!!
