I love this song, and band. When Randy, the lead singer proposed to his wife, it was on stage. After she said yes, he dedicated this song to his soon to be bride. (nothing to do with the post. I just happened to be watching it while typing, a figured I'd share some music)
@Fuggzy do damaged leaves ever recover? I have read that N toxicity leaves will eventually die and never recover, but what about spotted leaves from calcium deficiency? I'm not getting any new foliar growth so how do I know when I'm doing the right thing?
It's funny that I have a calcium deficiency worse this round because last time I didn't have calmag in the regimen until probably week 6. Last round I used straight roots organic amended with dolomite. This time I'm in happy frog with EWC and perlite at about 25% and having more trouble than last time. I know I have multiple problems with technique and if I were a better grower I could do great in this happy frog, but I won't be using it again. I'll technically be using it in my photos I have going right now, but that was the last of it and I'm switching to maybe coco, just to see. I even looked at DIY DWC.
I could cut down Riley right now at day 37ish i believe and catch a buzz, she's so frosty and 12" tall. Nina is still a runt but she'll have a kickass main cola, 9" tall. Maya is a little bush is having the most trouble dealing with my rookie mistakes.
I am torturing my LSD haha. Last grow I didn't really encounter any problems besides insects which was cured in a few days. I hardly fed at all so I didn't see many nutrient problems. This time I fed heavily to try to push them and it was too much. Keep It Simple Stoner, fuck my life. Through the rain and the pain my LSD is an animal. Purple as the mother fucker, structure just incredible like a god damned chandelier. Emily is 20.5" tall. A more skilled hand could probably get over 2 oz. off of this LSD, so many bud sites.
Anyway I'm high as fuck just rambling. I'm not too stressed these
@FastBuds sure can take a beating.
Sadly bud the damaged leaves will not recover. The only way to know a Ca def has stopped is if the damage stops. Normally you would just watch the new growth, now you just need to watch the current damage. The Ca def leaves won't just die off, so watch their spot patterns, and look for differences.
I have read a lot of stuff about
soils being unstable. OR hot, or w/e term you choose. The problems you are having might just not be your fault to be honest. If you want to continue with bagged soil, I would stick with roots. I have not used them, but it seems to have the highest amount of happy growers.
Now coco is something you may want to look into. I added it to my mix recently, and that shit is amazing. Just the feel of it in my hand told me "Good things will come", lol. I went with the Bontanicare 5kg brick, and what I would suggest for you also. )the coco guy here recommended it to me) It is pre buffered, and charged with Ca already. You would need to read up in it, as it takes a bit different style to use, but the guys that use, mostly claim to never use anything else again. I think the only main difference is the pH levels and what to Ph your feeds to. Oh, and if you do get the botanicare, try to find it at a local hydro shop. I got it for almost 1/2 what amazon had it for. I'll also be getting more soon. I plan on phasing out the peat mix, and going full coco for my super soils.
Making your own soil would be my biggest suggestion. I don't think there is a more rewarding feeling. It can be as easy or complex as you want. If you are interested, I can share a bunch of mixes with you... Like my mix.
It's not been through an entire grow yet, but all I am using is water, molasses, and tm7 so far. (tm-7 is humic acid, fulvic acid, and micro nutes) I'm not pH'ing shit either, just dechlorinated water, thats all. In my not so humble opinion super soils are the way to go.
These are the current plants. If you look really close, you'l see damages, but that was from the outdoor trip, not from the soil. Fucking critters, and stoners! (2 fell of the hay bail cause I wasn't paying attention)
Remember the batch of males I just had? I did do shit for them after flower. Just a bit of water, and w/e rain they got. Each one came down looking just as pretty as can be.
So not trying to push you to do it my way but... When I think of SS mixes, and close my eyes, this is what I see...
Like I said though, my opinion is not humble, lol. Get the coco, ditch the
.
