Lighting 2nd Grow: Rapid Afghan and Easy Ryder, Airpots, CFL

Hey astro, exactly. Makes them think it's hard days ahead and time for protection. Works for us optimists, right? ;)
I also like to think that it keeps them on their toes, making growth more vigorous when they DO get water. As if they were thinking, "Water... C'mon, GROW, who knows when we'll get water again!", as opposed to more frequent watering and plant-laziness because, "Chill out girls, we're spoiled and you know it.." sort of thing.
And thanks for the compliment!

Noods, I hang my head in shame... I didn't realize it had been so long since I've been in here! What can I say? Your girls are amazing bro! Thick, Fat colas! The look out your window a page back is very similar to farms around here! :smokebuds: Keep up the good work bro! You're kicking ass! And I'll make sure to get in here more often to return all the support you give me!

Rebel, thank you! I know you got a lot going on. You stop by as often as it fits and that's cool.
Thanks for the kind words my friend! I'm glad you like my plants. Special little update for you:

The Rapid Afghan is going into her end phase. A lot of yellowing, and I THINK she has the beginnings of some fox-tailing... I'm watching that closely.
She wasn't as thirsty this last feeding (yesterday) as she usually is. Her soil wasn't completely dried out, but I gave her a normal feeding anyway because I didn't want to waste my tea. I guess now they're going to be on two separate feeding schedules. I've spotted a few odd amber trichomes up top and on the top of the largest two branches. I'm wondering how she's gonna look at 10 weeks! In two days she'll be 8 weeks old. I can see why AC Genetics says you can take her at 60 days. And she's a stinky little bitch! So far the smell isn't creeping down the stairs, but who knows- she keeps getting "worse".

The Easy Ryder is just laid back and cool. I'm really, really enjoying her. She's green and bushy and she's slowly but surely fattening up her buds. The hairs are extremely long! The trichome coverage is no less than that of the Afghan, might even be more. She has that melted sugar crystallized again look about her. My last one wasn't this covered, so I'm hoping for some even better bud from her.

:smokebuds:

Already another week gone by and now my girls are 56 Days old.

They're both very thirsty here. Tonight is feeding time again. Last feeding was three days ago.

Little miss Easy Ryder is taking her time, steady and sure. She's still nice and green, so I'll give her a little FishMix along with the Bloom to help her stay that way a little longer.

The Rapid Afghan is turning very yellow now. Lots of Trichomes turning amber, so she shouldn't be keeping me in suspense too much longer. I'll give her some Bloom again tonight and she'll just get plain pH'd tap water with a taste of molasses the next two or few times.

This pic shows all the flowering going on down under. This is the reason why I will be doing a staggered harvest with her. I know I could have cut most of this out and increased production up top, but I couldn't bring myself to it.

The plan is to take the main cola and the largest side branches/buds first, and then tie things up a little to give the ER more room in there. Then a week or whenever later, I'll take the next larger side branches and/or tops of them. Then after another week or however long, I'll take the rest of the bottom.

That's the plan, at least. I'll just see how it plays out and stay flexible.

Beautiful Noods! I have been considering a staggered harvest as well with my grow but I am out of meds so I took a lot of the bottom buds to try and man did the tops take off! Plus I just gave them a pk boost of beastie bloomz and they went ape shit last night!

Dang, look at that cola! Seriously, they are doing great. Reading your post I learned a new term, fox-tailing. I had to google that, good to know! Also, your post reminded me that I could do a staggered harvest to give the smaller, lower buds extra TLC. I left all my smaller buds on too. Sounds like you have a good plan to me

Dub, you've given me an idea... I'll see how the motivation factor is tomorrow morning... Thanks for the kind words!

Thanks Mr. NS! Looking at the pictures, The RA is greener than in real life. :cuss: Maybe I'll give her more Fish and Bloom next feeding again.

flwr, thanks. Fox-tailing is cool, but it wasn't what I had going on, just a weird way of growing on that one bud. It's all fattened out and the part that I thought was fox-tailing is gone. I'm cool with that though! Fatter buds! Could still happen though, who knows!

Man they are looking sweet. I just got so lazy with my grow log :( Will you let them flower longer this time?

zaQ, I was going to ask you how things are going. I hope all's well and your girls are thriving!

Thanks for the compliment! These girls are both going to be alive until they're finished. No early harvests planned, but who knows what the real world has in store. Remember, last one was almost done, then the Power Outage, so I just left her in the dark a while and then took her. I'm counting on nothing like that happening this time!
