If I buy a 2x4 or 2.5x4 tent, I will have to buy a second light to go with my current 130QB. Thinking about an HLG Patriot 150. If I did that, do you guys think that I could make a divider for the middle ov the tent, using maybe something like a reflective casualty blanket folded in half? The purpose being growing two different types of autos in each "chamber,"say a couple of indicas in one and a big tall sativa in the other. That way I could get four reflective "walls" for each light and be able to bring the lights up or down based on the size/needs of the plant. It would have to be lower tna the ceilign of the tent to fit the air moving gear and for airflow and I would maybe need a little gap at he bottom. But even the actual US Army causlaty blanlet is cheap and comes with grommets all around the edges. So two tents in one as long as I am dong autos.

My opinion, take with a grain of salt:

If you're just growing autos, what's the purpose of the wall? You could easily grow indica next to sativa in one space. The only reason I could see for a wall is to separate into veg and flower spaces for photoperiods.

5 foot sativa and 2.5 foot indica? I see this as an alternative to putting the indica on a stool because I would have the two small lights. Might be a bigger deal if I was gorwing a tall sativa on onbe side and 4 indicas in a SOG on the other.

I dont see the point in seperating a small tent like that in the first place. Also just because a strain is indica or indica dom does not guarantee that it will be a short squat plant. The reverse is the same, not all sativas will be super tall and lanky either. Theres so many genes in the pool now technically anything could happen.

You can try it, no one is saying dont do it. But after one side fills up, you might find it a pain your 2x4 space is now a 2x2. Also youre only gonna be able to do 1-2 plants each side max.

I would just suggest getting a 4x4 and running 2 100w panels or better yet 2 200w 2x4 panels. You can daisy chain them together and run them both at the same intesities but at different heights. Or you could do the same in a 2x4 with 2 100w panels

So if you run 2 2 x4 200 watt panels, do you want one side of the plant to be taller than the other? My point is that I already have a 130W Qb, so instead of buying another one plus two tents and two exhaust systems,, I buy one tent, one filter, one fan and a cheap divider for the 130-135w lights. i an separating a MEDIUM tent into two small ones each with four reflective walls. Addtional cost of this exercise? About $19 for a Grabber USGI casualty blanket as opposed to $250-350 extra for multiple tents, fans, filters, etc.

Yeah, it's possible to do, but for me it just makes more sense to adjust light heights to match your plants or adjust the plant heights with a stool.

If one plant is 2 feet tall and the other is 4 feet tall, you have a light torching one side of the 4 footer if you drop one. Plus the stool may cost more than the casualty blanket and your plant will be up on a tippy wet stool. And each plant will still have 25% less reflective surface around it. :smoking:

I think a combo of light height adjustment, lst / supercropping, and plant height adjustments are the way to go. Plus, that allows light contribution from both lights to both plants, which to me is better than a single light with more reflective surface.

That being said, it sounds like you have your mind made up, so go do it and post pics with your results. I'd be interested to see how it works out.

Idk where you got getting another tent. I only said 1 tent. Also I seriously doubt 1 side of a plant would drastically outgrow the other side.

You said you wanted to seperate 1 tent for a sativa and possibly a couple indicas. Using 2 lights without a divider can accomplish the same thing. Plenty of people run multiple lights in 1 tent without any dividers. Its been suggested to me to buy multiple lights instead of 1 light for a 4x4 setup I have planned. Assuming people think the lights will be hung at the same height I believe, but contemplating this idea you can control light intensity with hang height rather than dimming controls. So essentially 1 light would be hung close and one light would be set at a higher power further away creating a balanced spread at the canopy heights. No extra tent no extra fans or filters no extra cost assuming at least 1 light has a dimmer. Im not sure if you have one light or 2. Im assuming 2 if you are planning on dividing your tent.

Its my opinion that a divider doesnt serve a purpose, and Im really trying to grasp what you're getting at and maybe something just isnt clicking for me.
