I was chatting to the guy that used to run 'feed the birds' (Finn) and I raised the point about pollination.

He reckons he has grown sensi next to a field of hemp and had no pollination issues, said they have to be really close.

But then again, I was telling him he had a duty to provide growers with pollen filters if he was going about sowing cannabis everywhere.

As for the change in environment, nature does worse and they thrive.

pH pen has been ducked for about three weeks. I've been using indicator fluid to check the pH of my feed (A massive 0.5 threshold to wrk with), and yesterday I realised I left my EC pen on for a week and now it's broke. Bellissimo

Chemicals don't need calibrating mate and I use my ec pen about twice per grow. They're indispensable when setting up, don't change anything massively and you'll bring this lot home.
 
They don't need calibrating, but they do need to be dosed correctly. I haven't been following a set feeding schedule, just incrementally raising the EC each week (although the jist of what I'm doing is loosely based off of grow pot cheaply dudes ideas). That coupled with the fact I haven't been recording the amounts I've been feeding them... So the feed I knocked up yesterday was just under what I remember giving them last (20ml cal mag, 55ml A 55ml B in about 25L of RO water)

Just stick at that and adjust if needed.

I'm gunna try do a pk spike at some point so i could be problematic with no ec stick. fleck

If you've been following my badly drawn journal you'll know that I've been rightly or wrongly having the bloom and veg lights on since I got the new light (about week 2).... The plants are looking great to me, but it I can't help but feel they should be more advanced for day 52.

Berry bomb is the second tallest, yet most most advanced in terms of budding, Towards the top I can see a few the nodes/bud sites coalescing,which is promising. The THC bomb is prob half a foot taller than bb, lots of very lanky branches with pre flowers all over , but I just don't see how it's going t bud out massively at the this moment! The two skunks are just shorter than the bb and are also pre flowering.

I do appreciate that strains grow at different rates etc, but do you think me having both lights on would have affected my grow negatively?
At day 52 is it premature to switch to bloom lights on their own, or shall I leave it as they are? How long is the pre flower stage typically?

Any help, or ideas much appreciated.

Patience and a bit of self belief mate.

Switching to bloom adds more red light, any extra red light in veg simply doesn't get used, the bloom switch is there to save a bit of energy when in veg (the smaller mars 2's don't even have the switches, they are constantly full spectrum). They're nice healthy looking plants, look back at your own journal, you'll see how quickly they've come along.
