So I sowed 2 easy ryder seeds last night. I'm trying to germinate them in peat jiffy plugs. I soaked the jiffy plugs, and put the seeds about 1/4" into them. I left the jiffy plugs in a shallow bowl of water, maybe having 1/4 of them submerged in water. I covered them with a clear plastic Tupperware container, and put my 125w cfl over them. The temperature is around 26celcius in the box. Hopefully all this will get them started. How long should it take before I see some action?

Hi. Started my grow today too. I usually soak the seeds overnight and then put them in some damp tissue paper. I do this cause I like to make sure the seed germinates before I plant in. Normally the seeds crack within 24 hours of putting in tissue. On that theory I would add another couple of days before it would break surface.

I was going to try paper towels, but I decided I didn't want to mess around with the seeds after they'd cracked, and I thought it would be easier just to put the jiffy pellets into soil. Best of luck with your grow, I'll keep an I on mine for a few days. How long should I wait before I get worried?

Just checked my seed and it has a little root. Have put it in a root riot cube in propagator and put this in tent. :) Will keep fingers crossed for you.

PS I would give it 3/4 days. If it has not broken surface in seven days I would start worrying.

Hey guys.
My first seedling sprouted, but I'm a bit worries about the yellow colour of the cotyledons.
Has this happened to anyone else?
Any ideas on causes?
Will it be ok?

Heya, im blind but it looks like its fine. Noticed you have alot of water though. I start in peat pods too, I let them soak up water and then give a gentle squeeze to get the extra water out.

Thanks, I wasn't sure if they should have been a bit drier or not
I'll drain off some of that excess water
