Hello again AFN!

I am finally starting my first ever grow! Big Buddah Seeds - Cheese Auto and Dutch Passion - Think Different Auto. Here is where I am at so far...any tips or advice/feedback is much appreciated!

I have two three gallon pots (with lots of extra drainage holes) that were filled with 70% organic soil and 30% perlite (washed).

I PH'd tap water (left out for 24 hours prior to dissipate chlorine) and thoroughly soaked the pots. I did not use any nutrients. The runoff PH was 6.3.

I left the lights on in the room for about 18 hours.

I poked a hole about two inches deep and dropped in the seeds, then covered loosley with soil.

Room conditions at planting were 80 degrees F and 70% humidity.

After about four hours, the temperature had shot up to over 100 F and the humidity had dropped to 10%. So I turned off the LED, adjusted the exhaust fan and bought a humidifier.

I placed the humidifier outside the room with the steam nozzle pointing towards the opening with the intake fan. It seems to be working as the temperature and humidity are now 80 degrees and 35% (again after four hours).

Okay, so now I wait and keep monitoring temps and humidity! I'd like to have humidity up to around 60 - 70% at this stage??!!

This is like having a newborn! I want to go out and check on my plants every 30 minutes, lol. In fact, I probably will so I made a window into the room (covered in clear film) so I can see everything without opening it up.

Have I missed anything? Are these temps and humidity okay for newly planted seeds?

Thanks AFN!

Peace,

MediJane

happy smokes!

sweet sounding set-up. I've seen some grows with the TD and those get big! ;)

My seeds sprouted today within hours of each other! They were planted on Tuesday. so five days germinating in soil. Temperature about 78 degrees F. Had trouble with keeping the humidity up so I misted the top of the pots a couple of times a day. I also ran the humidifier daily.

seem's as humidity is a problem this time of year.i'm lucky to keep mine at 35-40. congrat's on the sprout's. sending grow:karma Cloud:your way

Seeds Sprouted Today! Are my plans going forward solid or stupid?

Both seeds sprouted today! Within a few hours of each other. It took five days. It's been hard to keep the temperatures and humidity levels correct.

Right now I am running only the LED (except for lights out - when I will turn on the CFL's for temperature maintenence). It is about two feet above the seedlings. The humidifier, the exhaust and the intake fan are also running.

Temperature is about 78 degrees. Humdidty is about 70%. The soil is damp so I don't plan to do anything until it feels dry. Then I will water with 1/4 strength of the nutrients recommended in the General Hydroponics Go Box (BioThrive, CalMg, BioRoot, BioWeed).

Any suggestions or does anyone see something I may be doing wrong? I will take a picture when the LED's go off! Thanks!

Id try a clear 2l soda bottle cut in half.place it over the seedlings like a small green house, check the rh if its to much put sum small holes in them.this should get you through the first couple weeks when its important.

Thanks for the Karma! Yes, mine hovers around 20 - 30%. I have to keep running the humidifier.

I'm not familiar with the soil you are using. does it have any kind of nute's in it? if it does I would hold off on the feed for a couple week's. I'm using fox farm's ocean forest that I washed out a little and I've been only adding nute's at week 3-4. I'm not familiar with your nute's either so mabe some one else will chime in who has. :)
