New Grower 1st grow Amphetamine, Blueberry’s Ghost OG and Purple Kush

So, I set-up my tent

4x4x6.5
6” in-line fan with 440 cfm carbon filter
4- autocobs
Coco and perlite
Greenleaf Nutrients
Beans were from Seed Supreme
I soaked my beans in 6.1 ph’d tap water
24 hours later I started in a plastic container. I don’t have a seed mat yet, so I used a heating pad on low.
This morning the blueberry ghost had about a 1/2” tail. Nothing much elso was noticeable on the other 2.
Re-wrapped and checked on it about 12 hours later and I had about a 2 inch tail! Wow that was some fast growing!
I’m excited to see what I wake up to in the morning.

PurpleKush still hasn’t quite reached a 2” tail. I think the amphetamine is a germination fail. Seed has opened but the tap root just isn’t changing at all. I’m gonna give it a few more days on the mat

Well as a newbie I am making mistakes at the expense of my first babygirl.

For starters I do believe I have been keeping my seedlings too wet. Maybe that’s the germination fail I’ve had with amphetamine. It’s either I’m keeping to wet or my cups just aren’t draining well. I think I will add some additional drainage at the very sides of the bottom of the cup. I tend to have to tilt the cup to one side or another to get good drainage.

2nd mistake: At about 5 days or so I thought it would be ok to go ahead and give BG her first feeding. I WAS WRONG. I noticed some tilt to leaves and minor curl first, then it was some pale yellowing spots. Eventually the first set of spider leaves fell off her. She is gonna make it because I do have new leaves growing now but I definitely stunted and put a hurting on her. Smh ‍

Purple Kush is now 6 days old and seems to be doing decent. Not gonna repeat the same mistakes so hopefully she will do better that BG has so far.

I had 2 failed attempts at germinating the amphetamine. I think it was due to the lack of drainage in the cups. So I, germ’d another using a paper towel instead of the cup. Got to put it on coco yesterday, covered and am leaving it alone until I see leaves. Lol maybe one day I will learn patience is a virtue and less is more.

BG is 17 days old today. After my newbie mistakes of burning her up I finally decided to feed her again the night before last. I precharged her forever home (fabric 3gal) with 1.5 cal-mag pro, 2 g mega, and 1 g sweet candy, transplanted and water’d with 5.7 ph’d h2O. Yesterday I fed 1g sweet candy, 2g mega ph’d to 5.8 in the evening and she seemed to tolerate it well enough.

I had been fighting humidity levels and temperature with my regions crazy weather patterns. RH this morning is 44 and temp setting at 79 F. A seal in my cool mist humidifier is leaking, so I guess I will need to purchase a replacement.

The PK I had started had a bad misfortune when the exhaust fan was turned on to lower temp in tent, and sucked the dome off her solo cup. It ran for about 2 hours before I went to check on the babies. Her little spider leaves were standing straight up, I immediately sat in a dark cabinet and sprayed. Have babied her in and out of the light and sprayed as often as I can without too much moisture, but PK is now Crispy with no spider leaves. I am just disgusted with myself for that silly mistake. So, I dropped another bean of PK along with another BG since my first one is a mutant. I really don’t expect PK to make it but I’m gonna ride it out and see what happens. Just for shits and giggles.

Amphetamine is now 4 days old, and I have taped the domes on top of my cups this time lol. Only spraying with 5.8 ph’d H2O.

Time to find a hydro store or order some more coco. What brand do you guys recommend?

BG 3 weeks old today. I think she has recovered decently from my newbie skills. I am feeding 2 g mega, I g sweet candy, and 1 g cal-mag past feeding. Plan to feed tmrw this strength then up to 3 g mega, 1 SC, and see how she tolerates it.

I plucked the PK and started over. Have a 2 day old seedling going and the amp is 1 week today. I haven’t introduced any nutrients yet, plan to start 1 g mega on day 10 for both of these and will update with new pics next week.
