18 PPM for CS?

Hi Mesa,

That's good stuff to know. Personally I haven't strained my CS yet, but that's a great idea. I've seen the 3 battery method I think you're talking about where you directly connect 3- 9V Batteries but to be honest, that method makes me nervous because I feel like that it could explode or something. I know it's highly unlikely but I don't know enough about that stuff to mess with it. If how I'm doing it doesn't work then it's good to have it as an option.

Happy Growing!
I spray the whole branch leaves included. Not sure if it's required, but I do it and it works. Be careful with the over spray, you don't want to get it on stray branches.

As mog said PPM's don't really seem to be a thing for CS. I could never get mine past 21 ppm and when I tried it would actually go down the longer I left it. If you make CS again, try going with 3 batteries instead of 1. That way you don't have to leave it as long.

Not sure if anyone else does this , but I clean my rods every hour when making cs. I also Filter my CS through a coffee filter at the end of the process before I use it. I do this because I'm of the assumption you only want the small silver particles.

That's good to know, basically if 1 branch has that much potential.. 1 whole plant can probably create thousands of seeds. Since there will probably be such an excess of pollen I'll store it with a bit of flour in a freezer. By any chance, do you know the proper ratio of pollen to flour for storing? On growweedeasy.com they say doing it this way pollen can last for up to 1 year from harvest. Don't know if this is true but that's awesome if it is.
Parts of a plant that have been sprayed should not be consumed. If you reverse the entire plant you will need to collect the pollen to fertilize another female. I reversed only 1 branch and it fertilized everything in the tent that was at the proper age. The plant that I reversed was started 2 weeks ahead of her sisters. I could have waited 3 weeks. It was a single strain grow for the purpose of making seed. It worked. I got a lot of seed. They were mostly just like their mother but there was still variation. I only did it once because there are just too many new strains by so many breeders that beg to be tried.

I heard of that but I have not done it that I can remember. Although It seems vaguely familiar. I may have put some away and never used it. If I did it is many dabs ago.:rofl:

50ppm was what was always recommended for CS but as the posters above said, ppm Meter doesn't seem effective with CS as the most I could get mine to was 21 also.
I would use three batteries and just let it run for a certain amount of time, slightly less than 24 hours seemed to work fine for me.
I used to clean the rods also but then started just swapping the terminals over between rods every few hours and that worker fine.
The laser pointer idea is a neat trick, hadn't heard that.

Hey Serious,
Damn, wish I knew that before I bought a ppm meter. Anyways, how did you use the 3 batteries? Directly connect them together or did you have some sort of apparatus ? Here's a link to what I mean about directly connecting them, I want to do this but I'm worried it's not safe.
Thanks

Got a Godberry that I've been spraying with CS for a week (flipped in last few days) just doing a single branch and will hopefully keep a two other branch's for flowering..
Think my cs is 50ppm but heard of people doing 10ppm and it working...

Eh Jimmy,

Good to know. I actually am just trying that method that I posted in the previous post. Gonna role model what Serious said he did to get results. Good luck on your Godberry.

It's safe, i used to do 4 batteries but they get expensive. If you plan to do it more than once, buy a adjustable power supply. 3 - 12 volts at 500 ma, cut off the end and install alligator clips. I run mine on 9 volts for 12 hours to get to 15-20 ppm. You didn't waste money on the ppm gauge, it works just fine. If you start off at 0 ppm distilled water and add silver it does measure it. You can also use it to check you nutrient strength.
I haven't had much luck storing feminized pollen for more than a few days, regular pollen yes, good luck with that. Let us know if you try and it works.

With 3 batteries connected I only do mine for 6-8 hours. I think it's pretty safe but I just don't like the idea of letting it go when I am sleeping. On the downside of this I do spray my branch 3x daily.

Eh Pepe,

Thanks for letting me know how to do it with a power supply. I'm just very cautious to make my own homemade CS Generator with a plug because it sketches me out since I'm plugging something into the wall that's submerged in water. Hopefully overtime I'll become more comfortable with it but as it stands now, it's really not expensive in comparison to buying CS premade. After buying the wire the only costs are $3.75 for 3- 9v batteries per run and $1 for 1 gallon of distilled water that lasts for multiple batches.
