I'm switching my photo ghost train Haze to 12/12, but a 13on/11off would be more convenient to check on the girls etc because of how my schedule works. Lights are on at night and would allow me to get in there add much as I need then, while during the day I'm off, out and about.

Any thoughts on 13/11?

Thanks
Karl

I run 11 on 13 off for my photo. Sometimes I do 10 on, 14 off. Photos need a "minimum" of 12 hrs darkness. Using more than the minimum won't hurt anything. Most plants finish faster under 11/13. You can also google "DJ Short 11/13" and read his thoughts on why he prefers 11/13.

I was looking for a slightly longer 12hr light period to make it more convenient for my schedule. I guess I SOL.

Ahhh. Just realized you said 13 ON.. 11 off... So nope, there is now way to get more ON hours. To flower, the plant needs 12 hrs of darkness minimum. So the most amount of light possible is 12 hrs.

That's what I use on my photos 10 on 14 off and it's actually better for the plants..

If you say it's better, then please explain. Also, you go straight into 10/14 or transition somehow from veg?

Thanks
Karl

You can flower on "13 on, 11 off" hours. Get some 730nm diodes. That way you can get more DLI and so more yield.

Ok take for instance if you grow outdoors when do they start budding and as the day gets shorter the more dark it's natural...

My seeds start to flower outdoors at just over 13 hours light. Clones will sometimes start to flower @ 14.

It really depends on the strain though.

What you say, I do the same.

My understanding is the more sativa heavy a strain is, it will benefit from shorter lights on periods, however with intense light levels to get a high DLI over the available hours.

Look at Ace Seeds strain descriptions, like A5 Haze, they have many pure sativa strains and recommend down to 10/14 towards the end.
