10’x10’x8’ indoor LED grow room w/pics

The space you will want per plant will vary by maybe 2-3x depending on strain. You have lots of height, so if you choose to, you could take on some pretty large strains which may well want a 3'x3' footprint or larger to allow for training. OTOH, the 24C's in my current grow are doing fine in something like 1.5x1.5 each.

Your three lights will be fine for 6 medium sized plants, and maybe a bit light for 6 monsters, but they will still produce. You can always add more later if your monsters seem to want it. Horrible problem that, monsters that need more.

If your concern regarding smell includes the outside of the building, you will need a 6" or larger carbon filter. You may also need dehumidification/humidification depending on your environment, and a hygrometer (this is a good one: Amazon product) . VPD charts are your friend.

And you are going to need a couple decent sized fans to keep a breeze moving in there. Stagnant air is a bad idea.

Good luck with the grow.:goodluck:

Thanks allot. Some helpful info.
I’ll shoot for 2’x2’ per plant first grow and I’ll run with 6 plants. I’ll germ 8 just in case some don’t pop.
I’m going to add another 390 actual watt LED for a total of 1170watt covering 6 plants or 24sf so it’ll give me 48.75 actual watts per sf.
I have a 6” carbon filter on a 395cfm in-line ducting to the outside of my house. Smell won’t be an issue. I also have a 6” 395cfm inline fan pulling fresh air into the room. I have a 16” oscillating fan on a stand in the corner to blow the plantsand air around.
My biggest concern is lighting. I thought the 2000watt LED lights would be enough because they compare them to 1400watt Hps but I didn’t realize I need to go by actual draw of 390watts. The company claims it’s equivalent to the 1400watt but that would be crazy for the price.

Hello again,

My experience is that 49 watts/sq.ft. is too much with LED's. Mine are white screw ins, and are confined by nearby walls which reflect more efficiently than your more distant ones will, so perhaps different, but I doubt by much. My current grow had ongoing excess light issues, I think, at lots less than 49 watts/sq.ft.. With your LED's I think you are safe figuring initially that they will cover at ~30 watts/ sq.ft.. If you decide to cover at much stronger than that, I suggest that you either dim the lights until you see how plants respond, or if they aren't dimmable, keep them 3 ft. or so from the plants until you see how things go. You may know this already, but you also do not need full power light initially, you should ramp it up slowly over the first couple weeks or so of the grow.

Good luck with the grow, and welcome back to the forum. :goodluck: :welcome:

Ok so another question than. if I keep it to only 6 plants at 4sf each, that’ll be 24sf. My current set up with two lights would be 32.5 actual watts of LED/square foot! Is that enough? If so I’ll leave just the two lights until I decide to go with 8 plants

I think you would be fine with the two lights for your trial with 6 plants. Even at that level, I I suggest that you take care initially, and ramp the level up over the initial part of the grow.

If you find that you need more light, that can guide you on what you need to expand things. :goodluck:
