I got some crabshell and frass on the way ..Maaan I hate waiting..but if you got lime and a brand new bag and a few bucks..just go pick away at some small buys. you should start by adding some lime to all your mixes so you dont have to PH..do you PH at all now??Id guess you need to somewhat but just curious..

Wow nice crab shells. Whats the purpose of the crab shells?

Should I add some lime to my dr earth? It does already have lime in the list of ingredients. How much would you mix into 1 gallon of soil?

I do generally keep my water PH'd ~6.3-6.7 Im not sure if I really need to. I do just in case. I have not tested feeding without PH'ing it yet.

Well they have changed their recipe twice that Im aware of..possibly three times..but imo if you took a whole bag(that's 1.5 CF lil over 10 gallons soil)and added the composts n such that would be better with the lime..But if you took just the bag and dumped it out and treated it that way is best.that way it has time to start working..well just plug your main pot and it'll be workin before long..but to 1 gallon of soil..Hmmm, never mixed it that way..I would use to more than 2 teaspoons or even 2.5 teaspoons per gallon of moist soil.I personally try to keep it all on the lower side when I try things just in case lol. but for the whole bag..Id take the lime and add about 3/4 cup or 2/3 cup and blend really really well.

The crab shell is for trace elements and natural enzymes along with a hardy food with calcium and other elements.If I had better access to crushed oyster shell Id use that but that takes a bit longer but well worth it in conjunction with crab shell and lime too.So to your single bag add no less than 1/2 cup lime...2 LBs or 4-6 cups crabshell. and 2 cups of oyster shell crushed if ya got it. but I dont so I use lime n crab shell n works excellent but just dont have that staying power since it lacks the oyster shell.but it does rather well for a cpl grows with autos.or just 1 full cup lime and 2-4 cups lime and that'll work excellent for an entire grow for a 100 day or better strain and Photos like it too with veeery minimal feeding too. ok yeah Im stoned n yammering on n on LMFAO!!"AFN smoke out" always know if too much is added or not mixed up completely ,Lime is toxic and poisonous to your root system and will kill and burn your stuffs if not careful.

Hmmm, I still have yet to check the soils PH. Its supposed to be 6.5, So, if it is at 6.5. Would adding the lime compromise the soils PH, by making it to HIGH?:smoke:

Hey man..Well,Im a bit tired atm..but long answer short is no if added properly..and by that I mean less.for adding composts n such and extra boosters and such,thats what the more close to a cup amount is..if its just the Dr. Earth and lime..I'd add roughly 1/4-1/3 cup and mix well and plug n plant.but if you ARE PH'ing your water(which I dont recommend if decent)then adding Lime will do little benefit more than likely.But if your not as well as making teas,thats when the Lime will work and buffer that for you instead of walking on eggshells and it should maintain under a 7 if mixed light enough..Ive yet to have an issue using just under 1/3 cup per bag of straigh soil..not counting added extras n such..ie:compost,guano,casting n such. ill go over this agin later on today to make sure I aint tired yappin outta my ass LOL!! hope you are good dude..HEY,when you getting a new grow going anywho??just curious is all.I dont recall...are you staying the same or are you thinking of trying a more pure source of organics or anything..? juat curious really..ok,L8r dude.

Well got my frass and my shell today ,so ill go fix the last bit of my soil today and store it n stuff.i'll keep ya posted.got a lotta stuff going on atm.soil,re potting some others as well,and a few other fun things.. .so take it easy everyone..Im gonna go burn one and do some outdoor stuff for an hour er so.cuz usually less n Im done LOL! smoke em if ya got'em ..LOL!

Awesome advice! I made the silly mistake of mixing 6g lime per litre of soil when it was supposed to be 1g per ltr! My pH is constantly trying to hit 7.4, so I have to pH my rainwater down a little with lemon juice to counteract it. So yeah you can go over the top with lime.

Soil batch # 5 complete

Well got my fifth batch finished finally..added crabshell,a cpl scoops od DE(which is mostly pointless LMFAO) and some frassss man,yeah man, frasss!!Which btw is mostly a complete waste of cash for anyone using nutes and synthetics short of a drench and a foliar bug stuffs..but way cheaper and pretty effective forms of other stuf to use cuz the proce has gone up 10 bucks or more for some sizes cuz ppl are buying it willy nilly for useless reasons n that kinda sucks..but the more organic you are the better off your gonna be and the better and more proper properties you'll receive from the frass and your plant in turn will be strong as an ox.as the true genetics were ment to represent imo..lol. be well everyone..

Haze 2.0 ready for a feeding

been mostly holding off so far short of a very small sip of a mild tea I used last time but it was a small sip to hold her over and test my tea really..well...worked LOL! soo.Im gonna brew a little something a little more specific to her leggy haze self n thin tight buds..so we'll see what comes about..hopefully sumthin geewwd too!!"AFN smoke out" but thats my postal box sized tea box full of stuffs..lol sometimes its a hassle trying soo many different things...Like,the Molasses..Im familiar with Gra maws n blackstrap but I hear Brer rabbit dude is good too..so lets check it out..lol.:smoke:
