1 season. 2 crops. UK climate. stupid idea?

I've just started my first grow up in Scotland.
I'm hoping for another good summer but so far the weather is shit.

I'm treating this like any half hardy annual, which to be honest, I don't have much luck with up here - always a bit hit or miss.
Got 4 started off in tent under lights, 3 of which I will start hardening off this week for the next two weeks, when hopefully the temps will go up. The pack says 7-9 week, but I'm guessing two or three weeks more. Should be blooming in the best of the summer.
Will pop a couple more seeds this weekend and do the same - 2 weeks under lights. I've also put one outside in a pot with a bottle on top to see if it will germinate.
All south facing and get the sun all day.
I haven't a clue what I'm doing or what to expect, only that the yeild will probably be small and it will probably take longer than expected.
So let's see.
